The Art of Possibility.

Art, after all, is about rearranging us, creating surprising juxtapositions, emotional openings, startling presences, flight paths to the eternal.

from The Art of Possibility by Rosamund Stone Zander & Benjamin Zander

Came across this quote as I waited in the airport this morning. Wow. Loved it. Rearranging us. Quite the concept. Interesting book so far...about going about our life choosing possibility.

Salt Lake was good. Did not get a chance to go to Temple Square - next time I hope. Thanks for all the nice comments. One of you asked why I would want to move to SLC? There is just something about that city. From the first time I visited last summer I was struck by the cleanliness and the mountains. We have mountains here too, but it is nothing in comparison to the placement of SLC. I just have a fascination for the city, the way it came to be, and how it exists today. I am not a member of the LDS church but I am interested in religions and the way in which they come to be and the way in which they survive.

Came home to a house that needs some TLC. Some decluttering. Rearranged the living room furniture. Swept. Got the laundry going. Stared at the piles here in the studio. Always piles. Yuck. Also came home to my Tiger (OS X) disks - since my computer (an Apple G4) is a model without a DVD player I had to do a media exchange to get the disks. So far so good.

Looking forward to getting started on my next projects...

I hate clutter as well, I need a 'declutter' machine. LOL! Or a clean sweep. One or the other.

YES, the *piles!* I have so many...then add more little random piles of stuff I seem to collect while away.
Just popping by to do a little archive research here, lol. That un-remembered magazine? It's BREATHE.
And -- I keep thinking about that little bird...did she expect it to sit in her coat through an entire flight? There was something else (I'm sure as equally important as a bird at the airport :p), but I'll think of it and e-you later.) :)

Glad you had a good trip. Sorry you didn't get a chance to visit Temple Square.
I also love the mountains here. I am not originally from Utah so when we moved to the Salt Lake area after we got married, I was in awe of the beauty. I just love how the city is nestled against the mountains. It is majestic.
Love the quote as well - as always you give me much to think about.

Loved the quote -- thanks. I tacked it up on my little bulletin board to ponder for a while. Enjoy Tiger -- I just started exploring. The dashboard is amusing, I downloaded the Magic Eight Ball. It's cute.

Reminds me of a quote I ran across today:
"Man cannot remake himself without suffering, for he is both the marble and the sculptor."
    ~Alexis Carrel
Seems I'm constantly remaking, rearranging. This quote reminded me that the disconcertedness that goes along with it is all part of the process. So, in its own way, it's all good.

Ali, glad you had a good time in SLC. I was there for the 1st time last October. Luckily I had time to explore the downtown area. Such a clean, safe-feeling city. Temple square is definitely worth a visit. I love SLC alot.

HEY! i felt the EXACT same way when i was in SLC last summer (metya, betya don't remember, LOL!) for the first time. i tried explaining it to my hubs when i got home - couldn't find the words...it just has a "feel" to it! being at the base of those gorgeous mountains, the fresh air - it felt so clean and yes...safe.
love your blog - you are quite inspiring ;)
