Christmas Art Journal Day 5

Christmasartjournal_day5

Here’s the info on this page:

Took a photo of our Advent calendar and printed it directly onto white cardstock (I use a wide-format printed: Epson 1280). For the snowflake accent I used a Heidi Swapp mask – painting white right over the top onto a transparency. I cut out two additional snowflakes for accents. Journaled around the edge with a Pigment Pro .03 from American Crafts. A bit of tape from Heidi Swapp for the tab on the top edge. Rub on from Basic Grey. Rub on stitching is Distressed Effects from Dee’s Designs.

Our Advent calendar came from Pottery Barn Kids a couple years ago – I am sure they may have something similar again this season.

Also have to share this cool site that Brek sent to me: Eight Principles

OK, back to work on cutting paper for classes this weekend!

Hope it’s OK, but just wanted to say I borrowed your wonderful quote for the day (Anna Quindlen) and posted it (with credit) on my site: http://gauchogirl.blogspot.com/. Such a message needs to be passed on. thanks for the reminder!

Hope I didn’t miss this anywhere and you’ve already said where you’ve gotten it but I love the picture of the advent calendar. Where did you get it? I’ve been looking for a cloth one and can’t seem to find a cute one like that!
    I love this! TFS!

can i just say how much i love the colors you are using?! fantastic. and i keep finding myself inspired by you for the collage journal i’m working on — not a christmas theme, but a few christmas-y things in it and some lead back to here….

I put the Eight Principles site into my favorites list–I could use a reminder every once in a while. Wish I could ship you some of the snow we’re getting here in Philly!

I just love what you are doing with the Christmas journal. So inspiring. Also glad that you liked the Eight Principles. My hubby is a Personal Coach (similiar to a life coach) and sends me links like that every so often but this one seemed to speak to me more than the others….
Can’t wait to see more pages to come in the journal…

See, since I can’t sew, I’ll just go the sewing rub-ons way you’ve went here. Now if only I can be this brilliant. :)

    Ali,
Thanks for the great tip on the Eight Principles website. I checked it out and found it to be just what I needed to get me out of my rut. I’ve also decided to make mini gift albums out of the eight principles for my friends to keep on their desks at work.
    You’re always an inspiration.
