Christmas Art Journal Day Two

Thanks everyone for the great comments yesterday. I wanted to answer some of the questions related to the album/project.

1. that awesome tree stamp comes from a company called Memory Box
2. the sticker under the tree stamp is from 7gypsies
3. the photo on the cover was printed here at home and I layered two different transparencies from K&Company on right on top (used Magic Scraps tape for my adhesive)
4. the film reel came from Urban Arts & Crafts in Kansas City - they carry a line there called Junkyard Art that is so very cool
5. And yep, using another Heidi Swapp 9x9 album

And here is my entry for day two:

Christmasartjournal_day2

So far I seem to be working with the theme of creating something and sticking it on a white cardstock background. Created a snowflake. Painted it white. Stamped the circles. Put a rub on from Basic Grey in the middle. Journaled around the outside - talked about my dream of a white Christmas. Embossed the whole thing with Versamark and clear Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel. I had forgotten how much I love embossing.

Loving this. Now heading to the grocery store.

I am down right giddy that you are posting such detailed pics and descriptions! It is so inspiring! Thank you, thank you!! This is the whole reason I get on the computer so early in the morning, while enjoying my coffee, so that I can get my creative juices flowing and get excited about the day. I DON"T check out the news (too depressing), I try to check my emails (keyword TRY), but mostly just drooling over great scrap creations/2peas/great photos/little stories and tales is enough for me! Food for my soul!

Wow, Ali!! I am constantly amazed at your creativity and your gift of words. You are so awesome and such an inspiration! Love that you make time everyday to create, to breathe. We should all do more of that! Hope your dream of snow comes true, we are right there with you, doing the "snow dance", praying for snow! Take care....

I want to thank you for telling us all about Shimelle's Christmas journal class. After some hesitation (do I really need ANOTHER thing on my plate right now?), I signed up and I'm very glad I did.
I just spent the last half hour on my snowflake (okay, I'm a little behind) and although I wonder if the results quite justify all the work (LOL), these two thoughts were uppermost in my mind (as I was busy inking and embossing the edges of my flake):
    * whatever the result, I'm creating
    * I never ever would have thought to create something like this without the nudge from Shimelle and, at the very beginning, from you. I'm a lawyer (crazy how many there are in the Christmas journal group) and my days are generally spent doing a very different, regimented kind of creating.
So thank you, Ali, for prompting me to get in touch with the other creative part of me.
