AEzine Challenge : Follow-Up to Photos
From the newsletter this week:
This week your challenge is to try the photo gathering technique listed above. This is one of my most favorite ways to get multiple photos on a layout.
I am sitting here at the Northwest Women's Show in Portland, getting ready for my talk this afternoon about scrapbooking you (also known as: telling your story). Since I am not at home with my supplies I figured I would put together a completely digital layout instead. I have been collecting lots of cool digital supplies (of course those are all on my home computer) and am having fun implementing them into my paper projects.
So here is my post for the challenge this week - basic and wonderful. Focused on the photos and the words. Just like I like it (except on those days when I want more...gotta love variety).
Brushes on this layout are from Rhonna's Old Stamps Brush set from Two Peas.
Looking forward to see how you did with the challenge.
And a special note to all of you that donated to the 14 for 14 campaign. Thank you.
Ali...I love what you did. What I did this week was also only digitally for now. Thanks so much for such a wonderful newsletter and challenges! Here is a link.

Thanks Ali for this challenge! Actually got me to try out my PSE free trial. I love it! If you look closely, you'll see that we swim for Marine Hills Fish and Tree - hope you won't hold that against me. ( I about freaked out when I saw the layout in your book that you used to coach for Twin Lakes.) :-} thanks again for all the great info in your newsletter and thanks to everyone for sharing their layouts. Awesome inspiration!

This was a fun challenge! I have been dabbling in Photoshop for a while now, but your instructions are alwys so precise - it really helps when it is simple and to the point. I love the layout I did for this so much that I put it in my blog banner! I hope you enjoy the fruits of YOUR inspiration! It is really great to see how everyone interprets the same challenge...Thanks again Ali - you're the best!

Well, Ali - You ROCK because you've already commented on my layout, but thought I'd put it here so it's in with your group of contributors.
I always seem to get caught up with whether I'm doing something "right" and I tried to stop worrying about meeting your expectations and just use your guidelines as... well, guidelines.
Here's my solution to your layout challenge:

Maybe this all stems from my oldest daughter starting pre-school this year. And you're my teacher. Thanks again for taking the time to comment on my blog.

So much fun creating this. My first digital layout. Pretty scary but enjoyed diving into the unknown.

This was my first attempt at photo collaging that I tried after seeing one of your lo's in Creating Keepsakes. I loved the idea of using digital stitches to bind everything together:

Ali, this was great fun (and a two in one case for me, because I entered a contribution to a Circle Journal I had just finished).
I had collaged the photos into one picture and when I got them back, I decided I didn't had to cut them up at all! Sometimes you don't have to 'embrace imperfection' but you can 'hug the perfection'! Thanks, Ali!

This is now one of my favourite things to do! I enjoyed it & can't wait to do some more.
I was not able to do a layout yet because I can't print it at home (print head shot on my printer :( ) so I will be getting it printed tomorrow.
The topic of this grouping was a trip to an Apple Orchard. I just posted it on my blog:

Wanted to let you know I participated in the "gathering" photos in photoshop challenge and it's on my blog :) Also, then used it as a layout over at 2peas (photogazelle) Thanks for the inspiration - I was in a RUT! Happy weekend! Sara

Hey Ali, I hadn't registered what the challenge was this week.. I love your blog but I'm not even a scrap booker!!! Anyway... I did this layout during some downtime at work (I'm a web developer) and it just fits with the challenge anyway!!! Thanks!

Even though I did this layout last month, my photo collage only came together because of your great instructions in Studio A.
