AEzine Challenge: Try On Style
This week I challenged you to "try on" someone else's style. Pick a layout/project from a magazine or an online gallery and replicate it. Ask yourself those questions from above as you go about the process of creating your own version. If you find while you are creating that something does not feel like it is "you" than adapt as you go along. Simply make a note to yourself of what felt not quite right - this is something that you could jot down in your own style/idea notebook for future reflection.
So excited to see the results from this one - put a link in the comments so we can check out your awesome work!
I am taking off for The Scrapping Bee early Friday morning - supposed to be a lot of snow there so I am hoping for a safe trip. Peace.
As ALWAYS... I loved this challenge.
I am SO inspired by CELINE NAVARRO !! She rocks!

Love Elsie F's style, not a natural fit for me, so I tried it.
Not 100% in love with the layout but it was fun to try new stuff.

I've been busy doing Christmas projects this week & didn't have time to do one. BUT I posted one that I had done a few months ago. It was a lift of the amazing Judi Vanvolkenburg. She is super creative & I wasn't sure how I could 'make it my own' kwim? Well I did & it happens to be one of my favourite pages I have done.

The style I tried on is the vintage style. I'm sorry, but I didn't feel like scraplifting an actual person this time. I've been going to this great vintage mixed media/scrapbook store and I just wanted to try that style. Got all my inspiration from looking at products in th store.
It's a different look for me, but came together extremely easily. My fastest layout ever, in fact. and I used a few products I rarely feel comfortable using.

Thanks for another great challenge, Ali! This one really stretched me. I lifted from Emily Falconbridge, and here's my version:

Whoops, sorry i'm late. I hope you got to your destination safely and not too late Ali! Here is my take on the challenge. i tried on Danielle Thompson's style for a day, and i must say that it didn't fit at all! LOL! But it was interesting trying something new...

Sorry Ali, that i post my challenge so late. The reason is my work is ask to much attention of me. That is normal in this time of the year. In holland there are 2 child enternainer (sinterklaas 5 december) and the Santa Claus.
I love your style very much and i look forward for your next challenge. This challenge was my first challenge and i love it.
Love Simone

Instead of copping someone else's layout, I focused on a product I've long loved, but hesitated to use in my work...the tags from 7Gypsies. I love the collage/shabby chic/vintage look, but never really felt I could make it "mine."
I found the "Profile" ones perfect for the title page (Welcome to the Family) in my son's baby album, which I FINALLY started this weekend...this challenge helped me go for it! Good thing, because I've got a ton of different tags to put on layouts for his album. Thanks for the nudge ;)

Okay, this is a little late but I'm finally getting a chance to post my challenge layout. Loved the challenge. Loved scraplifting other layouts. I've realized as I've gotten further down the road of this great hobby, that when I'm stuck in a rutt (no pun intended), if I just look for inspiration or scraplift somebody I'm right back on track. So this one was easy because I've done it before and don't mind doing it again. Thanks!

Okay here is one that I "tried" on. I found the inspiration in the CK "Can do Techniques" the layout was about matting a photo with swirls. Here is my layout.

Very different for me I must say. I do like the color.
