AEzine Challenge: one little word

From Issue Eleven of the AEzine: This week your challenge is to create something, anything, that celebrates your chosen word for 2007. Maybe a layout. Maybe a blog posting or a journal entry or a simple post-it note that you put somewhere you can see it each day. Make sure to journal about why you chose your word and what it means for you - the more you let yourself explore the more benefit you will receive in the end.

I am hoping I was able to jot all of your words down - the response has been phenomenal. Please let me know if I missed yours, of if you are adding a new one today I will catch it later on and add it onto the master list of amazing, wonderful, inspirational words.

Wow. I am seriously wowed by this list. By the creative and touching and tough words you chose. By your willingness to do something. So proud of each and every one of you.

As for me, I have my word (peace) up on my wall in my studio and a magnet on my fridge that reads:

Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard word. It means to be in the midst of all those things and still be calm in your heart. (unknown author)

My Mom also sent me a reminder of the Prayer of St. Francis today...it fits in with what I want for myself this year (and in my entire life):

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,

Where there is hatred, let me sow love;

where there is injury, pardon;

where there is doubt, faith;

where there is despair, hope;

where there is darkness, light;

where there is sadness, joy;

O Divine Master,

grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;

to be understood as to understand;

to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;

it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;

and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

I am so looking forward to seeing how you have been inspired to creatively document your word.

Happy Monday!

    Great list Ali. I personally had not posted my word but noticed it is on the list. I also chose Breathe. There is a lot of meaning to that word for me. I'm going to do my best to do a layout this week and post it. Have a good one!

    Just stopped by to add my word, 'SEEK'.
    This scripture verse really struck me, 'SEEK and you shall find'. There are so many things I intend to SEEK this year... PEACE, CREATIVITY, JOY, TIME with my grandbabies... etc...
    I have thoroughly enjoyed this AEzine challenge... and will scrap/create around it this week.
    Thanks Ali...

    My word is CHANGE- which is already on the list. "It's not that some people have willpower and some don't. It's that some people are ready to CHANGE and others are not".
    Love your 'Peace' quote. DH has it stuck on a fridge in his office.

    Here's mine:
    ENOUGH.
    I will be interpreting it in many different ways throughout the year. I have enough. I am enough. I do enough. Enough is enough! And I've had ENOUGH of certain things/people/behaviors.
    'Nuff said. ;)

    Hi Ali....my word is "FUN"......I aim to focus on this word in all aspects of my life this year.I have included it in my blog banner and written a bit about it on my blog.
    Thanks for inspiring so many of us all around the globe.....I'm also going to my first "vision collage party" later this month and this word focus ties in well with that also.
    Thanks Ali!

    Love the definition of peace and the Prayer of St. Francis. Thanks for sharing it in writing.
    I didn't see my word on the list, which is *DESIGN*. I've been sitting with several words but it's the one that sticks...as in 'she designed a life she loved' (I totally got this quote from Heidi's BPS class theme). It makes me feel empowered. It makes me *conscious* (another word I almost picked) that I have more influence than I think or believe or actually do about my life.
    Thanks for this challenge Ali, you make us all better life artists and better people!

    My word is Happy & my layout is done & over on my blog.
    I feel so happy each time I look at it so it is working for me already. I apologise for the poor photo, it never seems to get light here & the flash ruins pictures sometimes.
    I plan to make an altered tag all about happy to carry around each day in my bag but that will most probably have to wait until the weekend as other things get in the way such as work!!!!

    I just have to tell you...
    I have made a new friend through your blog. Kal Barteski posted a comment several days ago about her word, "go." I was all, "hey! I picked that, too!" Went to her blog, to tell her why I picked go, and we've talked{commented} back and forth every day since. We'll probably never meet, but it's cool to have someone to chat w/online. She's my first scrapbook/online friend! I'm very excited about this, and thought you should know.

    My word is BLOOM. The word I chose came from one of the postcards I bought from Compendium. Here are a few words listed on the card associated with it that spoke to me: Keep growing. Open up. Drink the sky. Feel the sun. Keep growing.
    Thanks for the thought provoking challenge.
