Welcome to April.

April2007calendar

from 2007 Life Art Wall Calendar

Welcome to April. Hoping that where ever it is you live is beginning to warm up a bit and that the flowers are beginning to bloom (or continuing to as they have been here).

April is Autism Awareness month. My plan is to bring you some additional infomation on autism throughout the month. Currently I have 13 links over to the left to various sites addressing issues related to autism.
In addition, there are a couple awesome stamp companies I want to highlight that have put together stamp sets with proceeds benefiting Autism Speaks. Check them out here:

Gina K Designs : Stamps for a cause
Technique Tuesday
and
Scrap Outside the Box has put together a digital kit: Spectrum of Love  benefiting the Helping Hand Program (National Autism Association)

In other news…

Everydaybeauty

Creating Keepsakes is starting to offer a limited edition Kit of the Month program. I put together/designed products for the first album kit: Everyday Beauty. Click on the More Images Idea Gallery to see pages created with the kit and listen to a short audio (look for additional sampels from the artists listed later this month). Preorders begin April 23rd. Cost is $24.95. The May issue of CK will also showcase pages from the kit – it's all about celebrating everyday beauty in honor of Mother's Day.

• And speaking of my Mom – she started a blog about peace: Peace Everyday. We share the same one little word this year and this is her way of keeping her focus on her word. Go Mom.

• Make sure to check and see if you were a winner from the drawings last weekend. Email me (see the link over on the left side of the page towards the bottom) and I will get you in touch with your sponsor.

Just thinking about all of the projects that you have going simultaneously makes me tired! The kits looks great, and I have been playing with the idea of adopting your “today you” book that you did for Simon(4) as a piece for my mother, who only takes on more (more volunteering, more creative work, more friendships, more sharing of herself) as she grows older. So it’s great to see the words, ‘today’ and ‘beaufiful’ included in the kit. Hmmmm, might just want to shift my approach here. Looks just great and I know if I don’t pre-order, it will be sold out. Have a great day! Molly

I have “post-it noted” April 23rd so I can be one of the first to preorder your kit! It looks awesome. I am also excited for your mom on her new blog. I already posted a note on it! Hope you’re having a good day with Simon. He is so adorable!
I am enjoying a day of vacation, after a busy weekend of having a living estate sale at my mom’s house. Unfortunately she has Alheimer’s and we recently had to move her to a retirement community. It was an emotional weekend, but also good because my siblings and I were able to be there for each other. And the best thing? We got an offer in writing on the house, even though we hadn’t even put it on the market! GOD IS GOOD!

    Ali,
I read the calendar page and the first thing I thought of was how appropriate it was for you to include “create good” on that page. You are an expert at creating good in people. Just look at what has happened over the last month, and especially this past week. Thousands of people all helping to raise thousands of dollars for a good cause. Thank you for your inspiration and for showing us that it really does start with just one person reaching out to help others.
On another note I saw the other night on my local news that the local tv station was doing a fundraiser for Autism Speaks. I thought of you and Simon and made a mental note to check out the site later and see what it was about so I could tell you. Of course, I forgot, and now I can’t find it.
Best wishes and thank you for providing such inspirational reading material.

Thank you SO much for featuring GinaK’s set in your blog today, Ali. I am overwhelmingly blessed to have had such an intimate part in the birth of this set and the cause is near and dear to my heart, as my son, Zach, is autistic.
I appreciate all the work you do, the passion you have for your family and the awareness you are bringing to autism.
    THANK YOU!

Loving the kit – can’t wait to order it.
I was happy to read about your Mom’s blog and have visited it already. I have often thought of your Mom and have thought that she must be something else. I so frequently think about the prayer she wrote (you included it in your first book)… Dear God, Help me to be kind to my children… so so perfect. Wonderful that she is putting her message out into the world.

    Ali,
Thank you for letting others know what we are doing to raise moeny for autism. I am such a hug fan of everything you do and I appreciate your willingness to continue to make it priority to help autistic children in every way that is available. I hope our stamp set, “Love you to pieces”, raises huge amounts of money for Autism Speaks. Although there is no profit in this stamp set for us, the reward comes from the help that we know this great organization will provide to those who are in need.
    You are an angel.

I made the Father’s Day kit you designed for my father for Christmas ’06 and it brought tears to his eyes. I didn’t want to leave my mother out so this is the perfect opportunity to blow her away! I’m so pumped, thanks ALI!!! You truly are so inspiring. Seriously I think you are superwoman sometimes with all the wonderful things you do. Keep smiling :)

Thank you for pointing those awesome stamps out to us. I seen, I bought and now I’m anxiously waiting their arrival. Thank you for speaking out about ASD. This is something dear to my heart, I do not have a child with ASD, but I’m a one-on-one instructor for an ASD child. Each day is a learning experience and each day I return home with a full and joyful heart. The more we learn about ASD and the more we do, the more hope there is in finding the cause and a cure. Thanks again for all you do and continue to do. I visit your blog everyday and enjoy seeing Simon’s daily journey through life. God Bless and Much Love!!

Wondering what the circle stamp says around its border (it looks like words) — in your Everyday Beauty kit — just curious. I clicked on the links and couldn’t find any “picture” of the stamped image. Not that I won’t buy one ANYWAY; just wanted to know ahead of time what it will be.
