Capturing.
Tags:Caught this web near our driveway the other morning after taking Simon to school. The weather here has been so very fall - simply my favorite time of the year.
Tonight on the agenda we have pumpkin carving + cookie decorating. We shall see if Simon has developed any interest in carving since last year (when there was none).
A couple things to check out today:
1. An interview I did with Tasra Dawson from Real Women Scrap.
2. This post from Molly Irwin.
3. Maria Grace's version of the October CK KOTM.

That's an awesome photo. How come whenever I see spider webs they are just like 1 or 2 strings, so I usually don't notice them until I am walking through them!

Ali, I love Molly Irwin! I "met" her through her photography in Flickr. Such a sweet person indeed. And the entry that you shared was a beautiful one. It truly captures the essence of why we do what we do and it brings us all back to the basics, those timeless pages that never grow old, pages that share people's thoughts through their journaling; beautiful and simple. Keeping it so real. So glad you linked her here.

Hasn't our weather been fabulous? Love this time of year in Oregon. And the winds today are making the leaves dance like crazy! So cool! Happy Autumn!

Love the photo and the links - would love to know what was 'bleeped' out of the video clip - too cute!!
I'm hoping pumpkin carving is more interesting over here as well - last year Wyatt thought it was 'stinky' and wanted nothing to do with it!

I have a huge garden spider right outside my kitchen window with a web that gets destroyed, then rebuilt---another I discovered right outside my computer area window---keep waiting for some fog to alight on these webs for a photo op, but our windy, sunny weather hasn't made these beauties pop yet---no complaints tho---dancing leaves is a great description someone above mentioned! Fabulous Oregon valley weather lately!

Hey Ali! MMmmmmm....cookie decorating, what a great fall activity!
Question for you, now that school photos are starting to come home, do you have any interesting framing/displaying ideas? They don't exactly fit in with the rest of my photos, but I still want to hang them up. How do YOU make them look good?

Your capture is GREAT! Also, I'm totally cracking up about your post that Simon had no interest in the pumpkin carving thing...neither did Duncan this year. We did get a nice little gag noise, however, when Erik put his hand in to remove seeds and pulp. Then, Duncan took off to play as far away as possible from the carving. Oh well, maybe next year... =)

Love the spiderweb. It's so perfectly imperfect, isn't it. So orderly, yet so flowing. So purposeful, yet haphazard. What a great photo. I am one of those people who does not harm spiders. And who gazes with appreciation at a gorgeous web like this. Viva fall!
