Mosaic Monday.

1. inspiration board, 2. waiting to become blanket, 3. Wisp of Fall, 4. shins tree, 5. typewriter-royal, 6. vintage stamps, 7. Untitled, 8. i am currently loving…, 9. another wall, another cart, 10. woke up flying, 11. First snow of the season, 12. Killing time at intersections, 13. A note on the wall., 14. crema, 15. future push + pins, 16. t o p p e d

Haven’t done one of these mosaics in awhile. If you have a Flickr account you can make one of these here. There are so many amazing photos on Flickr – you can get lost for hours and days if you want to (or if you aren’t careful). What I always find interesting is that as I pick favorites (which is what my mosaic is made up of – favorites from other users) there are certain themes and patterns that begin to emerge. One thing I see in this grouping is the emphasis on the color cream. I also notice lots of circles (no surprise there).

We had a nice weekend adventure up to Olympia on Saturday for a book signing at Sharin’ Memories (they have the cutest store in an old house) and then back to Portland to stay the night with Amy + Jason. Simon had fun playing with Ruby – chase, etc (and worked on lots of sharing).

After lots of playing and laughing we headed over to the new Ikea on Sunday morning. It has been a few years since I was in one and man, talk about cool stuff. Picked up a few things for the holidays and some frames for our dining room.

We also attempted to ride the OHSU tram on Sunday – only to find out it was closed (note to self: call ahead before planning + talking about super fun modern transportation opportunities). Simon was pretty bummed about that one. We did get to see it in motion and walk right up to it and look inside – but obviously, it is just not the same as riding in it.

And we did get those cookies made on Friday night – didn’t get a chance to carve the pumpkins yet but the cookies were pretty darn yummy + fun.

Happy Monday!

I think you got the same cookie cutters I did – 10 for $1 at Target. I recognize the shapes. Except ours didn’t turn out quite so well – they all changed into blobs in the oven.

I thought of you, tonight, as I heard this: on the news! What a GREAT “awakening”–FINALLY! I’m an Early Childhood Educator, as well as a Mom of two preschoolers and this made me so happy to hear! I think it’s a start in the right direction…..

just wanted to let you know that ABC Nightline tonight (I’m in Illinois now, not Hawaii) had a BIG story about an autism program with SURFing. Apparently it is a program that happens all over the country (on the coasts, LOL) and some other places around the world where children with autism get to go surf with experts. it was really a neat show to watch and I immediately thought of your sweet {S}. Anyway, thought you might want to catch it if you can.
    have a great week.

I love the picture of Chris and Simon! I was instant messaging with a friend when I saw it so I sent her the link. It is so natural. This is how I explained it to her: “they were going to ride the train, but it was closed, so they just got to look, and the little boy , who has autism, is super bummed, and the dad, who is a state senator, is just sitting there, being someone for his son to lean on. LOVE IT”
    Thanks for sharing it! Megan

Love, love, love flickr. I try to cut myself off from any one website after an hour, but it’s so hard with that one! As a fellow “a” , especially like the shot titled “A note on the wall”. Cream is good. Such a soothing group of photos.
    Happy pumpkin carving!

How did you get the one cookie focused and the others fuzzy? Did you use a point and shoot on portrait mode? Just curious (and envious). :-)

just wanted to say thanks for the vivid images. I’ve been doing the funeral thing this week…and halloween. I kept describing the two as “incongruent”. And then, I saw your post…lost of seemingly inconcruent things made congruent by one person who loved them all. And i think that describes God heart for us in this week.
Thanks for showing me a picture of Him in this.
