Some days.

Somedays

Some days you just need to take a break. You know the ones: those days when things are not really going the way you would like them to go; those days when you are tired after working hard and playing hard at school; those days when the OJ is all out in the fridge; those days when it rains for hours on end and you hate getting your shoes wet. Hang in there, buddy. Breaks are good.

    We have those moments around here too…my 5 year old goes to half day K…can’t imagine if he went to full day K…he’d be a mess by the time he got home!
    Gotta have a place to chill…sometimes you just have to vent a little and that is okay.

    Simon. I totally understand. This is how my morning started.
    …then I treated myself to a cherry sprite;
    …and I found a purple pen refill that will fit my favorite pen (wow…what a find); and
    …someone just called to tell me they made me at treat as a surpise.
    Somedays, you need a time out. It makes the little things, (see above) so much nicer and happier.
    Hugs to you and mommy.
    Your friend

    Oh, how I agree! Took one of those breaks myself today…treated myself to a much needed “me” day and had a massage! So worth just checking out for a short time!!
    And, I also agree with the book…Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, was one of my now 28 yr old son’s absolute favorites! Another he loved, if Simon is into trucks, was Big Joe’s Tractor Trailor Truck. His copy got so worn, was taped and taped, etc, etc. that we actually had to buy a second copy! Now his little 7 yr old has both of them…and loves them, too!

    I agree with the “prescription” of the Alexander book. My college age kids often refer to their bad days as an Alexander day. We’ve read the book a lot in the past 20 years! I read it more than once a year to my third grade students, too. They need to know that bad days happen to everyone – even in Australia. :)

    I just read Faith’s post about her 28 year-old’s favourite books. Our 28 year-old son loved Big Joe’s Tractor Trailer Truck too! The taping and re-taping and buying a new copy was exactly the same for us. Unfortunately(he loves children), he hasn’t a son of his own yet.
    Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day was a library book that we borrowed more than once.
