I love this.

Opening up some star lights I picked up at Ikea a couple of weeks back:

Ikea2

And giggled at the instructions:

Ikea1

Sometimes you just don't need words. Sometimes it really is that simple.

But if you have a question you can always give them a call.

And one more thing for this frosty, crisp Wednesday morning. While picking up the usual at the grocery store yesterday I came across this tube of shaving lotion (they make a little razor that I really like so I was checking out their other products):

Sentiment

I love it. Packaging with personality.

Have a darn fun day!

I love Ikea instructions. At our house, filled with lots of Ikea bookshelves, DH and I call him Ikea guy and we imagine him grunting and pointing, which is the universal language. Those instructions for the lights are awesome!
Seriously, they really do have some of the best instructions anywhere.

That is funny you show the IKEA directions. I recently moved and we bought quite a few pieces of IKEA furniture and my hubby and I got a kick out of the directions.
For one of the heavier pieces, it actually shows as supplies that you need another person to help carry the box, yet you don’t get to the directions until you open the box!
Also we found that they left the last step off of the directions b/c I guess if you are left with one piece you are supposed to be able to figure out where it goes then!
    Gotta love those Swedes.

Love Love Love IKEA!! I don’t think I’ve ever posted on your blog, but I love your work. I was hoping to get to meet you at CKU chicago, but I won’t be able to attend. It stinks cause I live 1/2 hour away. Great projects. I’ve had lots of ideas in the back of my mind and need to get going on them with my daughter. Thanks for sharing. I noticed you were super tall too!! Whoo hoo me too. 5’10″
    Bye :)

Now I was thinking you were going to show what cool sb design you came up with from the Ikea instructions ;) Ha! They are very nifty in their simplicity—we love letting our daughters put together a lot of their new Ikea furniture with just a little help from us. Love the personal note from Jack too—kinda like the “fine print” on the photojojo emails…

So now I’m left to wonder…if one calls IKEA for help..do they get Sweden, or India?

    Ohh, now I’m giggling too…!
I’m a Ikea fan myself, and know these little funny guys on the instuctions (and the overall instruction style) very well! Easy does it… (most of the time that is… I remember building Stach’s bed very well… lots of work and even more wooden parts of various sizes… and in the end the whole thing turned out to be upside down…)
Anyway… great cream… this must make your day!

Hey we got the same star lights from IKEA.
    Great minds, shop alike.
I agree, from a design perspective, IKEA is pure genius. My husband put together two dressers and a shelf recently and it’s truly amazing that they came from those flat boxes! ;)

I always get a kick out of Ikea’s instructions. But I love them because I tend to just look at the pictures anyway and only refer to words as a last resort! Evidence that I’m a visual learner!
