December Daily : Day Eight & Nine

[ Chris risked life + limb for this photo. What a guy. ]

We took Simon sledding for the first time today to Willamette Pass.

We don’t really get snow much at all where we live – maybe a dusting or the occasional accumulation. But, we can drive a little over an hour and find as much as we want throughout the winter. The actual ski area is still closed because there is not enough snow yet, but for the few groups of people that made the drive up today (and were willing to trek their sleds up the hills), it was totally worth it.

Seriously good times. Up and down and up and down. Definitely an activity we will do again in the coming months.

And here’s a look at Day Eight and Day Nine in my December Daily Album:

What a FUN picture. This weekend we are taking the kids to Big Bear to go sleding. I wondered how I would get good pictures and now I see hubby will have to take one for the team and risk it too. Can’t wait to go now.

The picture of you and Simon sledding is fantastic! This album is such a great idea, and Simon is really going to treasure it when he’s an adult.
John and I need to make a trip north, Matty is begging near constantly to visit the snow :) If he saw this picture we’d have to pack up the fam van tomorrow!

Sledding looks like fun!! Up here we call it toboganning and it’s literally out my front door. No – it IS out my front door. We have about 15 inches of snow already. Much, much more to come. We tobogan in the back yard and as kids – we HAD to tobogan from the school yard through a park to get home (much more fun in the winter than trekking down in the summer!).
    Happy sledding! Yay for winter!

INCREDIBLE SHOTS!! Could you tolerate one more stupid question?? What is the font you’re using on page 9? It looks like the font used for part of the BPS logo… I like that it’s readable but not too formal-looking.
Being in FL this is the ONLY time of year that I envy those with snow…. your photos have NOT helped!! ;-> ha ha… TFS this album….

OK I am officially jealous! I want to go sledding with my son so much! And, withou some kind of major weather fluke, there will be no snow in Florida ! I’m making reservations later today. Not really jealous / glad you had fun sledding! I just want to too :)

How fun. We have gone up to Ashland Mountain or is it Mount Ashland? Lots of fun sledding there in Oregon. Each winter we take our bernese mountain dog to the snow, (sometimes Tahoe, or Lassen, and last year it was Oregon) so he can get back to his roots. Since we live in very moderate climate of the SF Bay Area.
Isn’t it great to live somewhere where you only have to go an hour to get to a new weather experience?
    Loving the album…
And the Santa picture. I got choked up just seeing the pic. How special for you all.
