One of the big projects I have been working on over the last few months (and am really excited about) is the creation of a Celebrate Everyday Life photo book for Shutterfly.
This hard-bound book is available in 12×12 and 8×8 formats (minimum of 20 pages but you can add up to 80) and are set up for you to simply drag and drop your photos right into the book & type your text into specified areas. The design is super clean with plenty of white space to keep the emphasis on the photos + words.
Page topics within the photo book include everyday celebrations, observations, distractions, travel, play, work, routines, family, home, beauty, little things, etc. All those parts of our life worth documenting.
In addition to creating the photo book I wrote four short articles related to putting this book together (and scrapbooking everyday life in general). Here’s a link to each:

While you are visiting Shutterfly, check out the darling photo book created by Jessica Sprague: ABC’s of You.

WOW! How do you do it? Your brain is a wonderous thing!!!
I can’t wait to make my own book! How many pages are in yours?
SUPER cool! I love it!
Right now I take all my “daily somthings” that I post on flickr and I print them on a color printer onto full sheet “stickers” and I then post them all in a moleskin journal- with other notes and random thoughts- but I LOVE this idea too! I will have to check it out!
Great Idea Ali!
Well, this is incredible. I have been struggling with creating my own shutterfly book and this is SO perfect for what I wanted to do. Your list of everyday photos is amazing, too. Am definitely putting that to use this weekend.
Thank you!!

Wow, I wish this had come out two weeks ago! I had a free gift certificate for a 8×8 book from Shutterfly. I’ll definitely be trying this as well. Thanks, Ali!
Amazing. You have a magic touch. I can’t wait to give it a try.
I like Lauren Z’s idea above, turning her daily photos into stickers for her Moleskine journal.
Congrats!
do you ever sleep? i can’t wait to create this…thanks ali!
Amazing – love it, will have to follow your guidelines cause I have been thinking of putting one together.

Simply amazing, Ali… I’m speechless and the creative juices are flowing…

OMGOODNESS!! What an awesome idea & opportunity!!! I had Shutterfly print 10 identical 5×7 photo books for the Grandparents, etc. this past Christmas (of my childrens’ Santa photo sittings – which were beyond incredible). I would have LOVED to have an AE-designed book to plug those into! ROCK ON WIT’ YO’ BAD SELF, ALI EDWARDS!
WOW – I LOVE this. Super cool … thanks for sharing this with us!!
I was just going to work on a shutterfly album this morning and uploaded more photos. How handy! I love the look of this album too. Hopefully it looks as good with my photos in it!
This is so awesome, Ali!! I created a photo book for grandparents for Christmas this year and although they were fine…they could really use some help with their layout options!!
Ali this is amazing!! Such an awesome idea!!
very cool!
Ali – is there a place to view a screenshot of each of the pages in this book? Thanks.
Oh THANK YOU Ali! I am so glad that you shared your vision and expertness with Shutterfly. I’ve done a few books with them but I wanted more options and ideas. THANKS! I can’t wait to work on a new project that won’t add another mess to my clutter that I am currently working on getting rid of.
Biggest photo struggle??? Hands down- organization.
Just got your new book – I’m enjoying every single page.
Thanks,
~J
This is an amazing photo book and definitely one that would be an important family keepsake. I can’t wait to give it a try!
Hi Ali,
What a wonderful book project! I am looking forward to getting started on my own. Thanks again for your ideas and inspiration.

How long did it take to develop and create your ideas for this book??? It’s beautiful and anyone that receives the created book from a family or friend will be blown away…you’re design has made any and every photo that someone uses look amazing.

I’m so excited to start this….I have been using Shutterfly since time began and LOVE everything about them..Having-you pair up with them makes it even better!!! YIPPY!!!
This is seriously cool.
I think you should just start your own brand and revolutionize the world
with ‘Ali-goodness’!!
wow! i love the idea of having it bound. Can you make the book over time or do you have a short window to upload pictures and text i.e. do you have to have the text already organised before you put it in.
You are very inspirational. Thanks for sharing your ideas.
Leonie
this is an awesome idea! Good for you.
what an awesome project for you…so fun!
Wondering if you will be attending the CKC, Feb 29th in Portland?? I don’t see that you are teaching anything….Thanks ;o)
Thanks Ali… lots of effort to make this but I am SURE it will be popular.
Great! I did a MyPublisher book for the first time a few months ago, and loved it. I could never give up all the pretty papers and supplies I love using as a scrapper, but I definitely decided that these kinds of photo books have a place in my life as a scrapper, too. I like the professional look and feel of the books, and they really are very simple to create!
WAY COOL! Off to link it to my non-scrappy friends who love this stuff! Kristen
This really is fantastic. What a great way to provide your design skills to a wider audience. I love to see the way women are innovating and growing this industry. Congratulations.
What a fantastic project and so inspiring.
I can’t wait to do this book. I love Shutterfly books. I have done a few and I notice that I journal a lot more than I do with my “regular” scrapbook pages. So thank you for doing this. Your mind is full of wonderful ideas!

Wow!! Another amazing project! Thank you so much for making it easier for people to document the everyday little things that are SO important.
Snapfish has a similar program and I think I might give it a try. Thanks for the articles.
Sue
I have been waiting for something like this for a long time. Beautiful work Ali! I will be making one of these books for sure. Thanks for this!
wow wow wow~~~~
What a fantastic idea! I am loving the new things Shutterfly is doing, and this just takes the cake.
I am so excited to make my own! Their quality is fantastic – I love the book I made for my daughter for Christmas. Congrats on this project… awesome!
This question is definitely off the subject, but is there anywhere for a person with no blogging experience to go to get the scoop on blogging so that they don’t totally fall on their face? I would like to get some journals and bags up on ETSY and it sure seems that you need a personal blog to be able to link to get your name out. Sorry to throw this out to you, Ali, but I was in your class at CKU in Chicago a couple of years ago and I thought “if anyone knows, it will be ALI!” Thanks for any info you can relay.
This is hella-sweet! Thanks so much for sharing!
can imagine you’re excited about this! It looks great!!!!
