Six.

Birthdayboy

Big time excitement around here yesterday and today. Simon is six.

Yesterday we had a party with five other little kids and a bunch of adults and family. Kids were running and playing and eating and unwrapping. Simon loved it.

Here's the calm before the storm:

Birthday2

This year Simon went with a mixed theme. Elmo hats, Scoobie Doo banner + goodie bags, Dora cake plates, Shrek pizza plates, Cars cups, My Little Pony napkins, and a Happy Feet tablecloth. All favorites at one time or another over the past few years.

His newest passion right now is Star Wars. We got the original Star Wars movie at Christmas and since then we have watched it many times. Light sabers were requested as a birthday present. If he wouldn't have fallen asleep on the couch last night from sheer exhaustion I think he would have slept with those new light sabers. Those were definitely a hit.

No school today in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. so we are hanging out, playing with toys, and working in between.

A post mama to mama-I am always interested in the "best" toys that are right for all the things I want the kids to do/learn/experience. Esp. for re-creation of scenes of movies which makes for wonderful language. SO I am recommending the Star Wars GALACTIC HEROES from Hasbro. Nice chunky little guys that hold up and not too many pieces. Tons of different choices and some vehicles too and characters from each of the sagas too. Loved by boy 8 and girl 5 at our house. Husband wasn't sure of them but they are perfect and played with often. They love the movies and video games of it too and the light sabers in all forms and the legos too and the Star wars ride at Disney World. Hope you like them too. Hasbro.com and ever popular Target have them for us.

Happy Birthday Simon!!!! How fun that he chose to mix all of his favorites together for a party.
It's so cool that Star Wars has stood the test of time. I loved it as a kid and was so excited when DH bought me the trilogy for Christmas some years ago.

I'm late, but I still want to wish Simon a happy birthday. My son turned 6 in August. He's also a HUGE Star Wars fan. You should check out the Lego Star Wars games. Super cute and fun for the whole family. Each trilogy was released as a separate game and then a Complete Saga was released in time for Christmas. We don't have that one yet, but I've heard that Indiana Jones is an unlockable bonus character.
