Zac Browser (Zone for Autistic Children)

I received a couple emails recently that linked me to something super cool: the Zac Browser.

Here's the news story from ABC: Grandfather Builds Web Browser for Autistic Boy

The only bummer about it right off the bat is that it's only compatible with PC's.

This must be portable to the Mac. I will ask around Silicon Valley and see what folks here think. --Krista

This will make such a HUGE difference for so many kids that struggle with all the extra stimuli found on so many kid's websites. I can't wait to share this with my friend whose son is autistic. I'm also going to load it on my 6 year old's computer too. He's always clicking on the wrong thing and this will make things much more enjoyable for him. Hopefully, it will become available for Mac users soon. Thanks so much for sharing!

    Interesting Ali...
Also - buy this: http://www.vmware.com/products/fusion/ and install XP on it (or Vista if you want) ... works like a champ on your Mac - Windows programs side by side with Mac ones.

This looks great! It sounds like in fact, it would help many children who are not autistic too! I work for CPS and have forwarded this on to our regional disability specialist.
It's amazing how experience autistm has allowed you and this man both to inspire and help so many others.

Hi Ali...I'm sure you've read all there is to read on the subject of autism. Besides being an enthusiastic kindred scrapbooker, paper crafter, vintage dealer, container freak...I am also a music therapist and work with children. Not sure if you've ever considered a music therapist working with your son using music to acheive non-musical goals, but in my training, I also heard about a gluten-free diet for children as also being benificial. Just a thought a wanted to share. Happy New Baby girl! hugs, bren an avid fan
