Here's answers to a few questions I have been receiving since the initial post last week:

1. Do I have to buy the kit to take the class?
Absolutely not. A limited number of kits are being offered through Cocoa Daisy as a convenience for people to purchase the supplies I used all in one place. I have always recommended substitutions, using what you have on hand, and making a project your own by including what works for you and the story you are telling.

2. I have the ATC spinner - can I use that instead of the 4x6 Photo spinner?
The ATC (Artist Trading Card) spinner, a smaller version of the 4x6 Photo spinner from 7gypsies, could be used for this project. The only thing that will be a bit tricky is that the PDF downloads (for the journal cards + the transparent tabs) are sized for 4 inches x 6 inches rather than 2.5 inches x 3.5 inches. You could shrink them down with your printer settings to get closer to the ATC size.

3. Do I have to use a spinner or could would this project work in an album?
I definitely think there are creative ways to put this together without the spinner and keep with the spirit of the project. One of my main goals in using the spinner is that it is a way to get some of my favorite photos out of my albums and out in the open. You could create a similar look with chipboard pieces and binder rings. Choose a heavier weight chipboard (similar to the 7gyspies cardstock pages) and it would most likely still stand on it's own. I am actually looking forward to the class gallery to see what sorts of creative solutions people come up with.

4. Is this something I can do at my own pace?
YES. This is a do-it-on-your-time class that does not have a specific beginning or end date. Once you sign up you have access to all the content and can do it at your own pace.

5. Is there a time limit for how long the class will be available?
There is no time limit for this class. It opens today and you have immediate access to the how-to instructions, the audio message, and the downloads. I am not sure of the actual time line it will be available through Big Picture, but it will be up for at least a few months. Gratitude is a year-round attitude.

6. Could I give this project class to someone as a gift?
Absolutely. Big Picture offers gift certificates here.

Yey! I've been waiting for this project!!!!!!
I don't have the kit, but I do have a lot of the supplies on hand. I don't have the tabs or the pocket pages, so I might have to just create them... BUT...One (kind of dumb) question that I have... do you have a trick on how to punch the holes properly with the 7 gypsies hole puncher? I've been testing mine and I keep mis-aligning the punches for some reason. So I end up wasting the cardstock because it doesn't properly hang on the carousel : /
Your advise would be so appreciated : )

Joyce - do you have any of the pages that are designed by 7gypsies to go on there? My suggestion would be to use one of those as a template as you punch. Other than that it is all about trial + error :). Maybe use some scratch paper/recycling paper as your template.

Hi Ali, just wondering where you found the clear tab dividers that you used. I have most of the other supplies for this but haven't seen those before. Thanks!

Barbie - those are a download that come with the class that you print onto ink jet transparencies. I use the ones from 3M that you can get at an office supply store.

    Hi Barbi
I have bought the transparent tabs at www.scrapbookersparadise.com. (canadian website)
I tried to get the supplies at Two Peas and also in the other website (forgot the name) that Ali has indicated but they are all sold out :(
Here is the link for the online store:

I love the way the printed words look on the transparent tabs. This looks like a great project.
Also, I love that idea of making an open circular book with book rings. I think I'll try that idea soon.

Love the project Ali, currently trying to finish some quilts for xmas, just finished printing off the last pictures for My Week in the Life, Just finished using your Today You book for a gift for Brody, finished 3 family recipe books for xmas gifts, making 2 advent calendars, almost finished by December daily prep for that project & started Jessica's class. Wow - when I put it in writing, it seems like a lot. I hope to take this class another time - I am sure it will be amazing as all your projects are. Enjoy and I hope to see some samples once it is complete.
It is so wonderful how you spread your creativity!!!
    Happy - Happy Day!!!

Ali - thanks for mentioning the binder ring idea. I don't have a spinner and am really focused on using up the stash of scrapbook stuff I already have.(Enough to last me the rest of my lifetime I'm sure!) This will work perfectly for me. As I was looking over the handouts for the class I kept thinking this would be a great project to give my daughter for a X-mas gift. She's in college, so spends most of her time away from home now. Thank you again for sharing another wonderful, meaningful project with us.

I'm all signed up and making three of these-one for my Mother, my Mother in-law and myself. Happy holidays to you-enjoy these last few months of being prego with your baby girl. My hubby and I always wanted 4 but we have only been blessed with two. I miss the wonderful feelings of being pregnant. :)

The binder ring idea is awesome. I don't have the photo carousel yet and I was starting to worry because I'm cutting it close since I want to give this project as a gift. I do, however, have about a million assorted office supplies floating around my studio. So now I have a back up plan. Thanks.

I am SO excited to do this class, but have not ever taken a class with BPS and can't seem to register. Anyone else have this problem? I am impatient I guess and their system is probably overloaded.

    Hi Ali,
Thanks so much for this project. I just downloaded and printed a copy of the handouts and transparencies, etc. I think I am going to need to wait until after Christmas to get started but I am really looking forward to it.
Enjoy this special time; it is the most wonderful time of the year and, with the help of the December Daily, I can't wait to really thoroughly enjoy it.

So grateful for the upcoming holiday season. I just love the whole feeling of this time of year and time well spent with family. Also, love dimming the lights at night and sitting on the couch listening to christmas music just looking at the christmas tree all aglow. A cup of hot chocolate or coffee is a bonus. Happy Holidays, Kim

Ali, I love this project. I had a love-at-first-sight moment with the spinner, and I have it on my desk as a rolodex (from Pottery Barn, I think) and everyone plays with it...!
It would be lovely with a random pic of the kiddos every now and then (listed under "C" for cute, "F" for family, "B" for blessed, etc.
Thanks for always posting such great ideas, Ali!

Back up...I haven't been on line in awhile and so I have one last organizational tip that makes decorating and/or putting away my holiday decorations a snap. I have one large rubbermaid tub for each room I decorate. In each tub goes the decorations for the tree in that room (we put up 3) and the decorations for that room. It sounds crazy but it's really very easy to put up and take down this way. Even is you're not as nuts as I am about decorating your home, if every room you do decorate had a tub it makes it so much easier to decorate and pack up after the holiday season (and my dh appreciates having less "stuff" to carry up and down the stairs!)
