Hello December.

My first December Daily post will actually come tomorrow as it is a daily documentation project and I have to actually live it before I can document it. I plan on taking some photos around the house today as we pull out the holiday tubs and pick up our tree this afternoon.

One of my favorite adventures of the past week was a visit to the Space Needle. When we were driving up to Seattle we decided to make a reservation for lunch on Friday and then invited Paolo + Courtney to come along. This was Simon's first trip up to the restaurant and observation deck and he definitely liked the experience. I think he may have liked the ride up the elevator best of all. As you can see it was traditional lovely Seattle weather.

Simon also spent lots of time during the week being very interested in the happenings of cousin Lucy. We were given many updates on where she was, what she was doing, etc. He is definitely going to be a really good big brother. This was also really the first time that he and cousin Henry really played with each other - running and chasing and being boys.

In addition to time spent with family at my parents house we headed over to the Long Beach, Washington coast area after Thanksgiving to spend some time with my sister-in-law's family. Movies, relaxation, good food, and antique shopping were all part of the agenda.

It's always a bit crazy to come home again after being gone for a few days. We stopped at Ikea on the way back and picked up a couple things for the baby room: lamp, crib sheets, etc. I have plans to work on that a bit this week in addition to getting the house set up for Christmas...we shall see how that goes.

I hope you all have a great first day of December and do something special to celebrate today. Maybe a toast at dinner, an intention of peace & simplicity, or just a heightened awareness of what matters most to you and your family during this season. If you come up with a cool intention, toast, prayer or thought that would be a nice little something to add to your album.

Tim is doing his fantastic 12 Tags of Christmas again this year. I am thinking I may play along and add the tags to my December Daily album. His tags tend to be a great way to learn how to use many of the cool products he offers. I am excited to see what he comes up with this year. You can check out last year's tags here.

Enjoyed your view of Seattle weather. DS lives there and is used to it.
Tonight the advent wreath goes up. Didn't get the Christmas box opened yesterday but that's ok. I love eating dinner by that candle light and it reminds us of the peace that means Christmas to us.

I am really excited about working on the December Daily. I did a mini album last year, documenting every day in the month of January. I love looking back on it now, from a year ago. It is funny the litle things that you forget about. I also love your idea of incorporating Tim's tags in the December daily. I made all of Tim's tags last year and created a little Christmas book. It is one of my most prized possesions. You can see it here: http://www.acherryontop.com/gallery_viewer/,37357714,cid,,18,,71278
Thanks for all of your inspiration!

Fabulous family photo in Seattle. We were there a couple of months ago and didn't go up the space needle because of the weather. Weather Shmeather! We should have went up! Anyway, my 4 year old wanted to go to the Experience Music Project. He is very big into instruments and music and he had an absolute blast. We ended up making a music video and when they asked us what our band name was ... the 4 year old blurted out "Rippen!" He had a band name tucked away in his little head ... who would have known?!
    Happy December!☃

I am super excited to start my December Daily entries today and how great that we got out first snow of the year in Central Indiana ( where I live) over night. Not much, but enough of a dusting for some photos this morning before heading to work. Yeah:)

Great photos. My husband says we belong in Portland or Seattle because it's always perfect photography lighting outside with the cloud-cover softening the light. It's like having soft-box lighting all around. =)
    Happy holidays, Ali.

Just wanted to say how much I love your new Tech Tues stamps... I bought all 3 at my LSS. The owner takes such good care of me I actually got one of the sets you autographed.... that was a real treat.
I love the clean design & they will be easy to use over and over without me getting tired of seeing them lol... thanks so much for making journaling that much easier for me.

Love your family picture on the needle iin Seattle. I already started my daily album. In the Netherlands we have someone like Santa Claus that is called Sinterklaas. His birthday is ondecember 5th and this day is celebrated with lots of presents for the children. So to capture this holiday I already started on november 26th. The first pages turned out great. Really love the idea. Thanks for the inspiration.

How exciting that Simon got a good dose of baby Lucy in preparation for his little sister. Lucy looks so much like her grandma in that photo.
Welcome to December - I'm not doing the december daily or journal your Christmas this year. Have done it for the last 3 years - and honestly, living alone, miles from my children, each year feels sadly the same.

Your picture from the Space Needle made me homesick. I grew up in Seattle but have been an East Coaster for the last 6 years. Glad you enjoyed your time with family!

How funny !, I left a post for Tim early this morning, saying I was sooo happy he was sharing techniques again this year, and that I was going to add one for each day of my Xmas journal. Day one is finished, but as it's rainy, the light is bad, I'll try to post on Flickr tomorrow; bye !

I see that you bought some crib sheets - just wanted to let you know - Clouds and Stars have the best crib sheets - the sheet fits around the whole crib mattress and then to change the sheet, all you do is unzip the top and zip another one on. No need to take the whole mattress out or remove the bumper pads. Someone recommended them to me and it was the best thing I bought. They also have flannel sheet tops. Their website is cloudsandstars.com
    Just an idea.
