Best Laid Plans & Thinking Ahead

I had hoped to have a couple of postings this past weekend and this morning catching up on my December Daily album. Unfortunately I came down with something and did little more than lay on the couch, sleep, cough, sniffle, and read. Feeling thankful that I have an interesting book
on hand and that most of my Christmas shopping is already done (and it gave Chris and Simon a chance to go out on their own).

I laughed a little as I looked back at my December Daily posts from 2007 and saw that I got behind at just about this same time last year.

There is definitely a ton of inspiration to be found in the December Daily Flickr group.

thinking ahead : ONE LITTLE WORD

As we approach the new year I have started thinking about the one little word project again. I have not decided on a word yet, but am considering a few different possibilities.

If you are interested in creating a word for yourself for 2009 here are some previous posts on the topic to check out:

Wow--I must read blogs and keep them in the back of my mind. I already picked a word for 2009--it is SHINE. I didn't know where I heard of this, but now I know. I also really enjoyed tracking the 24 days of Christmas. Didn't have it together enough to do flickr, but I was able to blog every day. I print my blog every week on sticker paper on a prenumbered book and yea--I am caught up. You are a great inspiration to me...I wanted to say thanks for sharing. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

    Ali,
In 2007, I chose 'Inspire' and kept an Inspiration Journal.
This year my word was 'Joy' and I kept a daily journal with many, many notations of joy in my life. It has truly kept me focused on the positives in my life and for that, I thank you.
For 2009, I'm thinking about combining the 365 photos with different words each day/week. Just not sure yet...,
    Sue

Feel better Ali! I've got to think about a new word for this year. Last year I chose harmony. I'm behind on my book too - way behind. I'm a teacher and now off until after the first of the year so now I will have time to create!!
    Merry Christmas!

My husband is also reading Outliers.
I chose Faith for last year and have begun to think about what to choose for 2009, also.
    Have a very Merry Christmas!

Ali, it's good to know that lots of people are "behind" on their albums! I have done up until the 18th, but I skipped a few days here and there.
I'm thinking about the word "savor" for 2009. I'm at such a good place in my life, and I want to savor those feelings.

I've got a bit of a jump on you this year. I created a list a couple weeks ago to start narrowing down. This year's word was Believe. It was an interesting and unique word because it not only makes you think about believing in others, faith, but also to believe in myself. It was a really great word for this year. I'm sorry to hear you caught a nasty bug. I hope you get some rest and start feeling better quickly.

Hope you are better today, Ali. Thanks for the reminder about the word for 2009. I'm about to start on a new adventure in 2009, so I'm going to participate this year to honor the new start!

Glad you are feeling a bit better!
Picking a word is harder than I thought.
Your lists make it even more difficult.
This will either take a lot of thought, or I might just put all the words that "speak" to me in a hat and draw one.
    Have a beautiful holiday!

    Ali!
I hope you feel better soon. It seems that everyone has something right now.
I have never participated in the One Little Word project before. But, the word that I keep hearing in my head is "Believe."
I have such a hard time believing in myself. I think this is a good place for me to start. I need to believe that I can do the things that I keep putting off because I am afraid that I will fail. I need to believe in my abilities. I need to believe I am worth it. I really need to believe that all things are possible!

Something I love about this One Little Word project is how - when I least expect it - the word is there for me to find. About a week ago, the word "faith" popped into my head and hasn't gone away since. So I guess that's going to be my word.
Hope you're feeling better as we head into the home stretch before the holidays. Have a wonderful week! =)

Hope you are feeling better soon! I am seeing this One Word challenge for the first time. We have a theme each year for our church and I love the idea of having a theme or word to focus on for our lives. Thanks for always inspiring me.
