December Daily : Days 23, 24, and 25

Decemberdaily_complete

So happy to be finishing this up. It's a project that I definitely look forward to but man it is tough to finish up during those last few days leading up to Christmas.

In looking through the entire album for this year, one of the things I really love is that it is simple and the emphasis is really on the photos and the words. The more time goes by the more I really find that to be what I want to see most. Sometimes it is so easy to get swept up in all the extras (because there are so many cool things to use) but what I really care about are the pictures and the story.

I know that I talk about the simplicity of words and photos often, partly it is a reminder to myself and partly because I just get so excited about it.

I love this photo of Chris, his Dad, and Simon - probably my favorite of the season. Patterned paper is Love, Elsie from 2007. Foam stickers from American Crafts.

Thanks, Ali, for sharing your month and memories with us and also for reminding us that memories come from the pictures and the words - not from the latest embellishment. Even though I LOVE embellishments!
Best wishes for a wonderful 2009!

I'm so glad I participated this year. My goal was to put in something about Christmas every day, December 1-25. I wrote about my day, about past Christmases, anything that had to do with Christmas. I included photos and art when I had them. Making this book kept my Christmas spirit alive and energized throughout the season. Thank you for all your creative input. I'm considering an All About Me Daily as a countdown to my birthday in February.

    Hi Ali,
I've really enjoyed watching your December Daily grow before my eyes I'll definitely have to try one next year.
I'm sure I've probably overlooked this somewhere along the way but I was wondering when your new baby is due?
I'm thinking 21st January, only cause that's my DD's birthday LOL

I just finished my album this weekend. I love it. It is full of different size pages, different textures, and the magic of the season. I can't imagine going through the holidays again without capturing it all in an album like this. I'm already planning next year's album!

Thanks Ali - loved participating this year - but trying to play catchup - we had 7 extra staying with us for the better part of the week - so house if almost empty of company, and hoping the new years weekend will give me the needed time to finish.
    Absolutely love it.
Thanks for sharing and helping along the way

Ali, I have absolutely LOVED doing this project. I hope you continue to do it every year. Yes, it's hard to keep up during the crazy pace of the holidays, but oh, so rewarding when you make the effort. Thank you so much for the inspiration.

Love that Santa paper. I have that piece and the coordinating notebook style piece. I'm going to use those for my main Christmas scrapbook page in my son's book. I'm a little behind in my daily album, but have the pictures on the camera ready to print. Almost there....I will get it done before 1.1.09 :)
I would love to see how the baby's room is coming along....and the studio. What are your plans for the little one's arrival? Less blogging? I know you will be doing less travels.

ALi - Greetings from Puerta Vallarta - our family Christmas gift....we are sharing a house with family in the warm sunshine! My 25 days of December book is complete , this year with white Christmas photos! I thought of you when I created a mini album(stuck inside while home due to snow) for a daily book of our vacation! Brought a printer with me and so far have two days completed in the album - it will be so fun to share when I get home next week !!
Merry Christmas , thank you for sharing with us the 25 days of your Christmas. Enjoyed the inspiration ~
Happy New Year - from PV Mexico !!

your book is wonderful. I really love the shaped pages.
I get what you mean about wanting to wrap it up. I love having done this, but now I just want to sequester myself upstairs with my photos and finish. That might be rude to my houseguests though ;)

    Hi Ali,
    Very nice album!
Question: What computer program/software do you create your photo collages from?

Thanks for sharing. I love this idea, since we don't do a lot in December, I've decided to use the same concept to make an album for 2009. Thanks for the inspiration!

Beautiful!! My word for 2009 is going to be "Joy" - I am inviting joy into my life and opening my eyes to notice it. Also, my eighteen year old daughter is going to play - her word will be "Balance".

I agree with everyone above - I looked forward to seeing your and everyone's version.
My questions is the pages you had taken out, are you storing them for next year? How do you store them, grouped in a file?
    Thanks again.
