My word is not there exactly :-) My word is ACTION. I see the word ACT and I started with that but decided I needed something more.

Seeing that list of words is inspirational. I think there are several I could choose from and have a different word every week! This is simply beautiful.

I can't decide if this is too negative or not, but I keep coming back to "reinvent." I'm not totally dissatisfied with my life, but I'd like to reinvent myself as organized, early-rising, exercise-loving, and more present in each moment. While I keep thinking about "persevere," "realize," or "forward," I somehow think "reinvent" is just a bit more appropriate.

    Wow Ali!
Thanks so much for creating this list! It is VERY inspiring to see it all in one place. I did finally choose a word for myself "aspire". I aspire to be more than I am right now.
Best wishes for a wonderful 2009.

I've thought a lot about what my word should be and in recent days...all my brain seems to be telling me is to FORGIVE. I need to work on forgiving others, myself and to ask for forgiveness. This will be a year for me to work on forgiveness.

I finally figured out what my word is and for me it's perfect! It's CLEAN. Clean mind, clean soul, clean body, clean slate, clean up my act, clean air, clean my house... So many inspiring words here!!

    Mine is: Marathon
    1. long distance race
    2. a race other than a footrace marked especially by great length
    3. an endurance contest
    4. something (as an event, activity, or session) characterized by great length or concentrated effort
Why: There is much to accomplish in 2009. It will start off slowly but will gradually build up. I believe the 1st half will be a time of training - if you will - for the running I'll do in the second half.
I'll have two kids in organized sports, gymnastics, and school. My daughter Hope will continue dance & Mark will begin music lessons. Both kids will hopefully participate in theatre this summer...to grow, stretch, and build self-confidence.
As a family I hope to take another family vacation. We visited Disneyland in 2008 and the kids did amazing! We were really proud – the drive was way too long (2.5 extra hrs to drop off Grandma Louise) and we pushed the kids (loads of walking & no naps) for the two days we were at the park. They did outstanding!
I’ll continue to my education both formally & informally. I will finish my degree & another photography retreat – this one being local and I seriously can not wait!!!
I plan to continue hosting scrap nights – hopefully monthly – and to continue to perfect my newest hobby into a full blown profession – photography.

My word is "others". My goal for 2009 is to think more about others and less about myself.

My word is Tenacity. Last year it was Possibilities and 2008 was actually full of them. I feel that where I want my life to go I need tenacity to make them all come true. I wish there was a way to express how this exercise has made a *GREAT* difference in my life. I chose this word Jan. 1st 09 and I have already shown tenacity in the "everyday" things that I do and it has made all the difference in the world.
God bless you and yours in the New Year and forever!
    With love,
    Enjoli

I am READY… to live more simply in my day to day life

    Ali,
I can't thank you enough for what all your effort and what you do on your blog! You can reach so many readers and inspire so many people in so many ways and you are absolutely doing it.... thank you.
This is the second year that I'm choosing the word to focus on. For 2008, it was PEACE and for 2009, I choose JOY. Joy is not the same as pleasure and Joy is purposely choosen as a state of being regardless of the circumstances that surrounds.... Hence, I will try my best to constantly choose JOY!

I chose "consistency", but there were several words I could choose. My schedule gets really busy and I don't take time to scrapbook. I need to schedule in time so there can be consistency and I will see progress.

I think I'm going to go with READ. I love to read my Bible and books in general and since I've had kids I have gotten out of the habbit. I spend way more time on the computer (now that I discovered blogger and facebook) than I would like to and really want to get back to reading.
