I had to think awhile to decide what my word needed to be. I was feeling rather lost as to where I wanted to put my energies. I finally landed on the word, "re-focus". I have a few things in my life that I find frustrating right now and the thought came to me that I need to "re-focus" to the positive side of a situation. When I am counting the bad things on the frustrating side, I need to stop and look to what is positive about the situation! Interesting exercise.

    Hi Ali
Yes you have our prayers for your melanoma's and for the safe arrival of your baby.. I ususally join in everything you do but never comment but i was interested to see that one lady's word was "Margin" in a form of saying NO.. My word for this year will be NO. I have never said NO to anyone and so have suffered 3 strokes and several nasty turns along with severe migraines. So this year my word is NO.

This is awesome. I'm already inspired to print this words out and random select one as often as possible and scrap my own interpretation of it. I'll be so fun. Thanks for that.
    Happy New Year.

What a fabulous list. My word for 2008 was SIMPLIFY and this is going to continue to be my word for 2009. I didn't do a great job focusing on this word in 2008 and feel that it is the most relevant word for me still in 2009.
Am I crazy to use the same word 2 years in a row?
Thanks Ali - you are such an inspiration!

    I've chosen to use GOOD.
I'm trying to "overcome" perfectionism, and I have decided I need to work on the idea that sometimes good enough is good enough. I also want to work on taking good care of myself, being good to myself and loved ones, and looking for "good things" in everyday life. 2008 was a tough year, and I want to work to make 2009 a GOOD one!

    Hi Ali
I found a link to you at Inspired. I was reading some of your blog, sending a prayer your way for your health issues, your babies and your happiness in 2009. I would also like to give you one of my words for the year - Foster. There are so many things that we can foster...our families, our health, ourselves, our art, our prayer life, our world...I am looking forward to meeting you in May at the Inspired Workshop!

I'm thinking that the words Recover and Recovery would be good for this list. There are a lot of things we can recover from . . . illness, addictions, break ups, divorce, financial troubles, lost relationships, etc. I am a recovering alocholic. I will celebrate a year of sobriety on February 16 so in a way my word last year was recovery. I haven't decided on my word for 2010 yet as I semi feel I need to wait until February 16 to decide. But I just wanted to drop you a line and see if perhaps you think Recover and Recovery could make your lsit.
    Thank you,
    Rebecca
