Three Things : just a little more love

Threethingslove

I couldn't help it. One more week of love-related products here on Three Things. Maybe it's because this baby's due date is February 14th or maybe it's because of all the pink stuff that has been making it's way into our home. Regardless, I am loving anything with pink and hearts right now and that is really not normal for me. Here's a look at a couple things that caught my attention this week.

Teresa Collins Pink Dot Transparency (8x8) : I have this one in my cart at Scrapbook.com. It's 8x8 and work great in this little album I am considering using for the baby's first few days/weeks. Still considering exactly what I want to do for that documentation. I am pretty sure that this is just clear with pink dots (rather than grey with pink dots).

Love Clear Transparency pages (5x7) from Heidi Swapp : These fit into her 5x7 mirror album or you could add it to one of Tim Holtz's 5x7 Tabbed Grungeboard books or a minibook of your own construction or just use one on top of a photo on a layout. Definitely love the idea of these.

Jenni Bowlin Mini Valentine Bingo Cards : These little guys (2.5 x 3.5) would be fun to use for Valentine cards or for a little minibook with photos on the other side.

Now that the holidays are over you may be looking for another fun project
to occupy some of your creative energy (and you may have considered this project last fall). Don't forget that my Family Gratitude Photo Spinner class is still available for download through Big Picture Scrapbooking. This is a downloadable class that is all done on your own time and at your own pace.

Cost for the workshop is $12 and includes: color handouts
with step by step instructions, downloadable PDF templates (for
transparencies and titles), full supply list with links to products, an
audio message from me, a private gallery for sharing your projects with
others in the class, and access to a message board for sharing thoughts
and ideas as you work through the project.

Kits are also available for this workshop once again through Cocoa
Daisy
. This kit is not required but meant as a way for you to gather
all the supplies together from one place.

I've been off from my job at a community college because of snow so I've been playing in my scrapbook room. I turned my oldest child's bedroom (she's 26 now and about to get married) into a beautiful blue creative scrapbook room. My own space - finally after 30 years of marriage and raising three chilren. I love your blog and all your great ideas. Gotta love the Valentine's stuff you have shown everyone. Thanks and good luck delivering that baby. Prayers are with you.

Our little girl is due about a month after yours, and I wanted to share that I'm modifying your "December Daily" idea to capture the first 30 days of her life...Just putting together a place to store a photo a day and some memorabilia from that first month. Having fun with the "girly" colors!

Ali, or anyone else reading ;), unless I'm imagining it I saw a post somewhere on how you created the canvases for the start of each chapter of Life Artist. I can't find it now, despite rabid searching.
I want to play with some canvas + paint + collage and loved how you did those canvases.
    Help?

Happy Inauguration Day! And good luck with that new one coming on the 14th (or sooner?) You're a wonderful inspiration for me, even though I don't have time in my life right now to scrapbook. I have used mini-books to help my son who is on the autism spectrum. Simon's progress gives me so much hope for the future. Thanks for sharing your journey.

I just downloaded the spinner class last week, and it looks fabulous! My daughter was a Feb. 17 baby, and my husband swore we wouldn't do the stereotypical "pink" thing. Then she got a pile of pink clothes, and blankets, and she loves princesses. She is a purple girl, but the number two color is pink. She's even gotten me to wear pink now, and I haven't worn pink since I was a kid!

    Hi Ali!
I know pink and hearts are not usually your thing but they're a nice change of pace. Especially when you're welcoming a little baby girl into your lives. I hope you are feeling good!
    Happy Inaugeration Day!

Ali - my little girl was born on Feb 17! It's a beautiful time for a baby girl. I too was suddently drawn to pink and all things girly when I knew I was going to have a little girl!!! It's all good.
I'm very excited to see what you'll do. I'm sure you'll have some pretty awesome photos and projects in the works... if you can find the time between diaper changes and lack of sleep!!
    Keep well.
    Francesca

Oh, how little girls bring the pink out in us. I never ever liked pink until my little girl came along. My first is a boy so the change of colors was welcomed for sure.
Love the Bingo cards, the are so cute!

Happy Day! Go Obama! Hope you enjoyed the day's events as much as I did. I will admit to being a little (o.k. a lot) teary-eyed throughout the inauguration and all of the following events. Our country has so much to look forward to. . .it's all very exciting. : )
Anyway, I especially LOVE the polka dot transparency. . .great find for polka dot lovers like myself. : )
And, I'm glad you mentioned your family gratitude spinner class @ BPS. . .I signed up last weekend and am sooooo excited about getting started. I hope lots of others join in the fun. : )
    Best Wishes!

I hadn't picked up on the due date, perhaps in my own world of just delivering our third baby........ Our daughter was born Feb 15 and it made me happy that she wasn't Feb 14, however... by her first birthday I was well in love with the pink and red and hearts and it lends itself so beautifully to little girls and birthdays and love, love, loving that new baby girl. Congrats and we will keep you in our prayers as your baby girl plans her arrival!

    Hi Ali!
i think i read somewhere that you used to be a graphic designer? i cant remember where i saw this because i couldn't find again, anyway i am 16 years old and i've been looking into different careers and being a graphic designer interested me, but i was wondering if you could give me some information on what you did, what skils you had before you started, for example, were you good at drawing? or is it more computer things?
    Any information would be awesome!
Thank you so much for your time!
    Megan

those bingo cards gave me an inspiration for my project 365 scrapbook layouts - I could do a "bingo card" shaped layout - a title across the top - one word that summarizes the week and then use the squares to fill up photo and journaling space.
I read a quote that has inspired me all week "Service to others is the rent we pay for living" It was in the book "Souls of Steel" by Pat Williams in the chapter on showing unconditional love.
I know there are lots of other things you could do besides encouraging us to live the best and most creatively that we can. Thanks for paying your rent.
