    i Ali,
I am working on relaxing and rolling with life. I am normally a quite tightly wound control freak (self admitted)...I am trying to take life as it comes and enjoy it as it gets here. It is not easy but better for me, my husband and my son...as my husband says it is what it is...not sure what that means but it works!

I've been working on a lot of things lately. Starting to feel "behind" (I know there is no behind, but it seems like there is so much to do), so I'm doing something different every day. Assignments from classes I took, but didn't finish the assignments. Organizing pictures on the computer. Putting printed pictures in albums. And taking a photography class. Lots of different things. Lots of fun. :)

Finished up this week's 52Q tag for Emily's mini art journalling challenge, starting this year's teacher appreciation school project for my daughter's school, creating a sample for next week's 10 minute service project at our church's Lenten soup suppers (a painted wooden plaque adorned with punches flowers, butterflies, etc. for hanging in resident's rooms at a local nursing home) and turning a blind eye to the dog hair and dust bunnies that are multiplying!

Working on photographing more than scrapbooking, seems like I put that off for indoor weather months! Really need to get to cleaning some closets out now, ughh.

I have been making quilts for my mom's church's Prayers and Squares group. I'm not really so much of a machine sewer so this is a huge step for me. I've never made a quilt before my first one two weeks ago. It feels good to make something for someone in need. :)

I always love to follow projects that you post, I think you have such a fun and fresh style. My project this week is my NYC book...9 years of "girl trips" are going to have to meld into something...just waiting for the cohesive element you know? I think it may be a funky contents page? We'll see. Love to see your family grow, you are all so beautiful! Junelle

Really working on making homemade meals, all three per day plus snacks! Such a challenge with a new baby, a toddler, a preschooler. Working on this to help improve our nutrition and to help cut costs. I got a few other moms in the neighborhood to do the same and on those days we feel we just "can't" stick to it, we'll each make one dish (entree, salad, dessert, etc) but enough for the other families too... and then we swap and all have a complete meal. It's a fun way to save money, enjoy home life, try new things. Really enjoying this though it is a lot of work to stick to.

I am working on balance, because All my life I have put work first, everything else second amd myself last-then I feel guilty about all of the above. my husband, family and friends suffer the consequences of my lack of balance. so,a few weeks back I stopped working more than 9 hour days (trying to cut that to 8). I started working out 3 times a week for 30 min/day and I stopped watching crappy tv. Since then I have gotten a burst of creative energy that I haven't felt in months, I read more, I have been organizing my pictures, decorating my house, returning friends e-mails and spending more quality time with my husband rather than passing out in the recliner when I get home from work. I am happy! :)

Grief and health - grieving the loss of my father and nursing my mother back to health after surgery and the loss of her husband. Celebrating the love that surrounds us as we focus on these difficult transitions.

    Dear Ali,
I have been working on getting my body in shape to face double knee replacements. Started Pilates and love it! Think of the time I'll have to finish all the "almost done" projects on my shelf while I recuperate!! Thanks for the chance!

Now that the boys are getting a bit older, and able to entertain themselves for longer periods of time, I've been getting back into the swing of things with my knitting. I've also be starting to use some of the cool new clear stamps to make cards for friends and coworkers.

I have cleaned out my craft stuff and stumbled onto my beads again. I have been working on some pieces of jewelry. I can make these out on the couch while watching tv at night.

A book of You. . .the Early Years for my sons 13th birthday this summer. It will hold all the fun stories of his funny comments etc. (ie, last week he told me that if things dont improve. . .it could be difficult for him to get his first job. -he is 12!!!) He has such a different way of looking at the world. I have scrapped his life extensively so far, but I have not documented well his view of the world - thru my eyes.

I've been working on my SIL's baby shower invites. Just finished them tonight so treated myself to blog surfing. I love your pics and journaling of Anna. I see your pictures and miss the infant days of my DD (but not the sleep deprived days!). Hope you are getting sleep and rest.
