5 Things To Investigate Today

IMG_0209 [ my hydrangea : june 27 ]

1. Paulo Coelho's The Magic Instant post which includes these words:

Every day – together with the sun – God gives us a moment in which it
is possible to change everything that makes us unhappy. Every day we
try to pretend that we don’t realize that moment, that it doesn’t
exist, that today is just the same as yesterday and will be the same as
tomorrow. But if you pay attention, you can discover the magic instant.
It may be hiding at the moment when we put the key in the door in the
morning, in the silence right after dinner, in the thousand and one
things that all seem the same to us. This moment exists – a moment when
all the strength of the stars passes through us and lets us work
miracles.

2. Stefan Sagmeister's Things I Have Learned In My Life So Far : I have the book but am enjoying the inspiration found on this collaborative extension. He also did a talk at TED on this same topic.

I love the first passage that you took from Paul Coelho. I think that is very true! I actually have his book The Alchemist and haven't read it yet, but I may just have to pull it out over the long weekend! :)

Ali thanks again for helping me to find ways to keep grounded. I really enjoyed Christne Kane's thoughts and now I don't feel so bad about everything I do that doesn't turn out just right! Also after reading the Zen Habits I feel better about having a "lazy" summer. Thanks again Ali.

Ashley, that is an amazing story and fabulous photos. My grandfather passed away recently, and my aunt was mad that I was taking photos before he had passed, but while he was in the hospital. I am so glad I did because now we have that to look back on and remember with.
