December Daily : Foundation Pages : Days 13-25

DD_cover2

Welcome back for the second half of my December Daily foundation pages.

Here's a look at days 13 through 25:

Day13

DAY THIRTEEN : Teresa Collins scalloped edge chipboard. Number 13 will be added on later.

Day14
DAY FOURTEEN : Santa tag from Paper Source (Vintage Christmas gift tags - will be using these for presents too). Tag is sitting inside another divided page protector that was trimmed to fit inside the page protector that came with the album. "14" are mini Jenni Bowlin rub ons.

Day15
DAY FIFTEEN : Red envelope from Paper Source. Red Circle Number from Every Jot & Tittle.

Day16
DAY SIXTEEN : Transparent clock from Heidi Swapp (I think I have had this in there all three years too). Journal card is a 25 Days of December Photo Overlay from Designer Digitals.

Day17

DAY SEVENTEEN : Awesome big glitter dot paper from Making Memories. Scallop edge created with the Fiskars Apron Lace punch. The backside of this is green flocked pattern paper from Art Warehouse. Those two patterns are simply glued back to back.

Day18

DAY EIGHTEEN : This pattern strip was cut from Making Memories Pattern Stripe Mistletoe paper. I slipped it into the page protector and stitched down along the edge to create a pocket that was just the right size for the strip. The open area will be used for my content during December.

Day19

DAY NINETEEN : Another page using the Teresa Collins scalloped edge chipboard. I added a plastic file tab to the top and wrote "nineteen."

Day20

DAY TWENTY : Santa image from IowaJewel's Treasures. She has a great collection of vintage holiday kits available. Red Circle Number from Every Jot & Tittle. For this page I trimmed up the Santa image, inserted it into the page protector and stitched a line down the side creating a second pocket for my daily content.

Day21

DAY TWENTY-ONE : Fun Advent Mistletoe paper from Making Memories. Scallop edge created with the Fiskars Apron Lace punch.

Day22

DAY TWENTY-TWO : Jenni Bowlin bingo card. I stitched down the side and trimmed off the rest of the page protector.

Day23

DAY TWENTY-THREE : Random brown file folder trimmed to fit.

Day24

DAY TWENTY-FOUR : Canvas page that was included with the album. Pocket created by sewing a sheet of Hambly overlays on top. Santa tag from Paper Source. "24" are mini Jenni Bowlin rub ons.

Day25

DAY TWENTY-FIVE : 25 is from the Making Memories Mistletoe Dimensional Stickers package. It's tucked inside a baseball card page protector that has been trimmed down to fit inside the larger page protector that came with the canvas album.

Storage

ONE MORE THING : Take some time after you get your album together to re-organize your supplies again. I like to have things organized before December so that on that first day I can concentrate on the content/photo/story rather than being consumed by too many unorganized supplies. These containers from Art Bin work great for storing holiday supplies. I have paper in one and embellishments in the other.

I hope seeing these images inspires you to create your own December Daily project. There are so many options to make things even simpler or more complicated if that fits your style.

You are also welcome to join the Flickr group and share your album or just browse for inspiration.

Come back tomorrow for a special mid-week giveaway related to the holidays.

Your album looks amazing already Ali!
I just came back from my LSS and I'm so happy I found an album that I think is gonna work great. I ended up getting a few more things for the album and along with what I've ordered from Etsy yesterday and already got at home I'm ready to start making my album. Now I just need to find some time to sit down and do it!

ali, your album is gorgeous! I am contemplating doing one of these this year - i've always wanted to, but waited too long. =)
With your bins there with your holiday supplies, do you store just Christmas in those??? Do you have a bin for each holiday or do you combine some of them? I have many supplies that never get used, because I just forget I have them.
    Thanks!
    Heather

Love this album! I watched you make it last year on here too and thought 'no way' could I do one, well, I never ever comment and rarely seem to scrap anymore either, so I am going to do both! I am totally in to capturing all the holiday memories this year, thanks for the inspiration!

Looks awesome - yes those storage bins are the best - I have my december daily stuff all ready in one of them - they also work amazing for quilting projects, etc.
Main staple in my sewing/scrapbook room.
    Thank Ali

After reading your posts this week, I'm in the mood again to do a December Daily. I loved doing last year's, but I have a trip in December and several sewing projects to make for gifts, so I was not going to try to do another this year. You make me just itch to do one now! I do have trouble doing all of it in advance without knowing what the content will be since that is how I scrap. OCD?? How to break out of that mode! Sincerely, Ali, you are so inspirational and I admire you for all your creativity AND productivity. (I have the former, but not the latter!)

I just LOVE your album... this is my fourth year doing a december "christmas" journal.. My guests love seeing them all displayed in a basket during the hoidays.
My album is purchased and you've given me a creative jumpstart to get this year"s rolling...
I just finished an "october" daily journal. Now it's time to whip out the christmas stuff. This year I have vowed to use ONLY the supplies I own, I have a ton of supplies from Christmas' past that can be put to good use............
Thanks as always for your lovely inspiration!

You are always an inspiration! I like your art bins, but I have been trying to buy less plastic. Any leads on something like this in metal or paper? I always keep an eye out. Thanks!

What a beautiful album! I truly love the simplicity of your creation. Usually when scrabooking mentors say something is simple, that is usually a buzz word that means something is going to be hard to re-create...but not this time-thank you!!! I am almost done with mine and I was thinking to hold off on putting my numbers on my pages-last year I had a few days I wished I had more room or having page 12 fit better with what was happening on page 2. I think I will put my numbers in a zip lock baggy and paper clip it to the back of the album and add them as I go.
    Thanks for the inspiration!

I love this idea! I'm actually going to do mine the simplest way possible - i've set up a sub-blog to my main blog where i'll be posting photos and journaling every day, and then i'm going to simply drop everything into a Blurb book with pre-designed pages. \
i already have the format set up on my computer so that once a week or so i'm going to drop the pages in - that way i can simply order the book once the holidays are done. i'm excited to start this as a tradition so that we can have a shelf of books chronicling our holiday season as a family!

Ali, Your album is beautiful! Thank you so much for being such an inspiration to all of us.
Will you be adding a tile to your cover or leaving it the way it is now?
BTW...I am really enjoying your Y&T class! It is awesome!

I love that you used binder rings in this album as it seems so much easier and more appealing to me. I also love how you adapted the album pages by sewing things in, making the pocket pages with Hambly transparencies, adding the baseball card pages... fabulous! Thanks for the inspiration, Ali! :)

Love seeing your album, and yes, it does inspire me to want to get going on one!
I have a question, since not everything is apparent from pictures...why slip the baseball/divided pocket pages into page protectors instead of punching holes into them. Is it just so you don't have to punch holes into the pocket areas? Does the double layer of plastic not cloud up the view of whatever will be inside?
