Home Front Giveaway

SC_JANReveal_Newsletter1

Three people will win the entire Home Front collection (papers, stickets, journaling cards, and FabRips) from Studio Calico.

One person will receive the January main kit from Studio Calico.

The concept of Studio Calico began long before it was a reality. In 2000, while working at a local scrapbook store, April developed an appreciation for innovative supplies along with a respect for preserving memories. Thus, the concept of combining fresh products with non-traditional scrapbook supplies emerged.

At Studio Calico, we hope to encourage the creative process by providing the best supplies on the market as well as a community that is supportive every step of the way.
In the past 2 years we've grown from an idea, to a small boutique of sorts, to manufacturing our own products. As we've grown, we've stayed true to the basics, while looking to the future.

Here's a bit about Lisa and her business:

When
California girl and young mom, Lisa Leonard decided to start her small
jewelry business five years ago, she had no idea how things would take
off.  With a fresh perspective and an artist’s heart she set about
making jewelry that could not be found anywhere else.  Her
hand-stamped, sterling silver jewelry is setting the trends and is
loved by women all over the world.

Her hand-wrought creations have been featured in several
national magazines, such as Parenting Magazine, Pregnancy Magazine,
Victoria Magazine and Wondertime. Online outlets are singing the
praises of Lisa Leonard Designs, including Cookie Magazine and
Glamour.com. Celebrities also love her line, including Josie Bissett,
Jason and Naomi Priestly and Jennie Garth.

Each piece is hand-cut, hammered, stamped, polished and
drilled with care in her California workshop.  You’ll find the perfect
gift for a friend, grandmother, sister or of course, yourself!  And
don’t forget dad or baby.  Lisa offers custom keychain and baby spoons
that will warm the heart.

My word for 2010 is ENJOY--I'm going to try and be more positive with everything in my life and just enjoy it. Not stress about things at work in particular--just have fun and enjoy the experience and not worry about those who don't. Thanks for the inspiration Ali~!

My word is "Glow." My husband took of photo of me and my 4 month old and I had to soften some wrinkles in photoshop (I'm only 28!). So this month I will start my skin care regime so at least I can start to glow in my skin. I'll get the the other aspects of glowing soon.

ENJOY is my word this year. I'm just going to do my best to take a deep breath and walk away every time I feel myself going into overload about the mess, what time it is and how late we are for something (this one is a biggie for me - I don't like to be late to things, and my other half... well he is chronically late LOL) just before I go freaking out... I'm just going to remind myself.. that it isn't a big deal -- relax and remember to ENJOY what is going on right at the moment instead of stressing over it.

HEALTH must be my word for this year as I am determined to lose 30 pounds. I hate having my tummy get places before I do!

I didn't pick a word this year - instead I want to focus on my 4 New Year's Resolutions. The one I want to focus on the most is making more homemade items. So that means I want to make my own chicken, beef & vegetable stocks, sew my own Christmas tree skirt for next year, make our own bread this year and can a winter supply of food this year. I love starting the new year with fresh goals, hopes & dreams. It helps me focus my life & not waste my time getting caught up in the everyday routine. Thanks for a great giveaway!

This year I chose the word "healing." I lost my husband 10 days ago and my father is suffering the end stages of pancreatic cancer...for 2010 I eed to learn how to take care of me..and heal. My first action step is o join a support group for young survivors (it will include many young family members who have lost loved ones as well).

my word for the year is "optimism". Instead of seeing the negative, I'm going to try to focus on the positive, to have a can do attitude. Keeping that in mind, my word will help me focus on the other goals I have for 2010--taking care of my health, living life everyday, the gratitude project (finding something to be grateful for each day/week) and focusing on being happy. Thank you, Ali, for being such an inspiration for me!

My word for the year is balance and I have written it on my calendar each Sunday to reflect on it. I also plan to cut the word out of vinyl with my Silhouette diecut machine and hang it above my desk. Those necklaces from Lisa are simple and beautiful. Will look into one of those as well. I participated last year but did not give myself the reminders that I needed...I am hoping the weekly reminder on the calendar will do the trick.

I believe my word will be COMMIT. I want to commit to more time to scrapbook things I love like my son. Being a single Mom I must care for our home by myself and work full-time so there never seems to be enough time for scrapbooking. I hope to find that time and work towards getting caught up this year. Thank you for a wonderful giveaway.

My word is "Meaningful". Life gets so busy and full of activities. With a part time job, a busy two year old and starting the process of adoption I need to make sure each day is full of meaningful activities.

"Love and approve" is what I'm working on. I have a hard time loving and approving of who I am and it can hold a person back in life. So I'm working on not picking apart all the things in life that I think I do wrong or not good enough and trying to focus on what I like and love about who I am.

My word this year is MAKE. I plan to make the best of what I have... make an effort to stay connected to friends and family... make the most of each day... make a happy home... make a difference in the world... you get the idea. So far this year, I've talked to family members on the phone and connected to faraway friends via email and blogs. And I've laughed and smiled a lot. :)

With a 4 week old baby, I have already been working on my word of the year, which is "cherish." I know the time will fly by and she'll be grown before I know it so I am cherishing every moment...even the sleep deprived ones!
