Home Front Giveaway

SC_JANReveal_Newsletter1

Three people will win the entire Home Front collection (papers, stickets, journaling cards, and FabRips) from Studio Calico.

One person will receive the January main kit from Studio Calico.

The concept of Studio Calico began long before it was a reality. In 2000, while working at a local scrapbook store, April developed an appreciation for innovative supplies along with a respect for preserving memories. Thus, the concept of combining fresh products with non-traditional scrapbook supplies emerged.

At Studio Calico, we hope to encourage the creative process by providing the best supplies on the market as well as a community that is supportive every step of the way.
In the past 2 years we've grown from an idea, to a small boutique of sorts, to manufacturing our own products. As we've grown, we've stayed true to the basics, while looking to the future.

Here's a bit about Lisa and her business:

When
California girl and young mom, Lisa Leonard decided to start her small
jewelry business five years ago, she had no idea how things would take
off.  With a fresh perspective and an artist’s heart she set about
making jewelry that could not be found anywhere else.  Her
hand-stamped, sterling silver jewelry is setting the trends and is
loved by women all over the world.

Her hand-wrought creations have been featured in several
national magazines, such as Parenting Magazine, Pregnancy Magazine,
Victoria Magazine and Wondertime. Online outlets are singing the
praises of Lisa Leonard Designs, including Cookie Magazine and
Glamour.com. Celebrities also love her line, including Josie Bissett,
Jason and Naomi Priestly and Jennie Garth.

Each piece is hand-cut, hammered, stamped, polished and
drilled with care in her California workshop.  You’ll find the perfect
gift for a friend, grandmother, sister or of course, yourself!  And
don’t forget dad or baby.  Lisa offers custom keychain and baby spoons
that will warm the heart.

I am not sure what my "final" decision on my word of the year will be. I am currently 1/2 way through Brene Browns book "I Thought It Was Just Me"....great read!! She talks about shame and stuff. I have a number of words I am thinking about. I am leaning towards "Forward". I need to just move forward through the rough times, through school, through the times I want to avoid and hide out (when in shame). I need to confront, forgive and move forward.
Thanks for your blog and all that you do for your readers. You give positive links to wonderful people with insights about life, books to read, things to do...you are a blessing to many people. Good luck on your word of "story"...seems to totally fit what you are and what you do.

I have two words this year: "change" and "celebrate". A lot of things have happened over the past few months that have made me realize I need to celebrate every moment that I can. The word change chose me after I had already picked celebrate, so I am going with both of them... My first action that will go for both of my words is to spend more quality time with my friends who, for the past little while, have been kept on the back-burner. Thanks for the giveaways Ali! Happy New Year!

My word is "healthy." My first step is to reduce the amount of soda I drink (way too much), with the ultimate goal of giving it up entirely.

I want to restore my health this year. First I will restore my financial base and then I will find out and cure the medical problem.

My word is EMBRACE. I'll be doing a blog post about it, probably today, and a scrapbook page about it. My aim this year is to try to embrace where I am in my life, my circumstances and the various pulls on my life, with acceptance and contentment.

    Wow......great giveaways!!!
My word for 2010 is CHANGE....I am so ready for a change in my life. It is actually two-fold, while I am ready for change, there are also many things that I need to change. My main priority will be my children and husband. Change how i interact, change how I react, change how I connect with them. I can't wait!

My one word for 2010 is - ORGANIZE. I crave being organized but have never been able to get any aspect of my life there. I've been reading some books for tips on how to do it and have absolutely promised myself that no matter what 2010 will be the year I learn how to become organized.

I chose "graceful productivity" and I am trying to make sure that the things I'm doing are beautiful and efficient. I made a simple (but beautiful!) frame to hold verses in. I would have never taken the "first step" to make something like that ... but I'm ready to go with this! :)

My word of the year is CREATE, the word itself is the action itself. I will give a lot of energy and my purpose is to create in every way, creating happiness and love in my family, creating solidarity among my loved ones, create positive change in my work, create designs and pictures to enhance my creative side. Thanks.

I haven't settled on a word quite yet, but am considering optimism, meditate and move. My action for now is to decide -- actually that may be a good word for me - so indecisive at times. Action for today is to repeat as often as possible "I am optimistic". It is like a little internal gust of wind swooshing away negative thinking. And I always look up when I say it.

I'm having a hard time selecting my word, maybe it should be FOCUS. I need to work on pinpointing the things that are the most important to me and not let the little things get in my way.

I don't have a word, but I am going to try to maximize my time better, take more time for creativity, and try not to let trivial things bother me so much. To 2010!

Thank you Ali for a wonderful blog. I thing my word this year will be "grow". The Lord blessed me with 3 great children 16, 12, 13. My family is taking a whole new direction this year. My husband has just accepted a new position at work and my daughter is going to be a senior this year. The two younger ones are teenagers and that says enough. I want to get closer to God and be able to grow in all areas of our family life.

My word for this year is Harmony. If I'm in harmony with my body (i.e. exercising more), I'll feel better about myself and have more energy. If I'm in harmony with my dh & kids, our home will be happier. If I'm in harmony with the housework, our home will be easy to maintain. Right now, I've started an exercise program to work towards this goal. Time to start moving!

My word is "document" and this will be done by scrapbooking once a month and doing a page layout of the previous months highlights. I am also working on my photography skills and will be documenting more of out lives during this learning process and I hope to help others document their childrens lives while I expand my portfolio.
