Home = laundry time.

IMG_0972

Home = dinner & exercise time.

Today my main thought is that I love coming home. I love being back in our space even in the midst of laundry and lists and all that other good stuff of our life.

One more day for most of us in the documentation phase of this project. What other things can you capture today that might round-out your week? Have you missed anything that is a really big part of your life right now?

Have a wonderful Sunday.

I've been really good this time round with taking the photos and writing copius notes. But what I hadn't been good at was blogging about my progress. So today I've been catching up with a few blog posts to document my week day by day, inbetween playing with the boys and general life of course! Looking forward to putting this altogether next week. Enjoy your last day.

I just wanted to share with you a comment my mother left on my blog in response to my entires for this week; "So everyone always asks me how I feel with you and your family living so far away. Left out and disconnected are the best descriptions. Reading this and seeing the pictures made me feel a part of your lives. It is wonderful!
hugs and kisses, mom" I never realized how much this journey might mean to others in my life. Thank you for encouraging me to do this. I think I will pick one day every month to document and post. Thanks.

For those concerned with cropping, I find picasa to be invaluable. It's free and it will allow you to crop your pictures any size you like. I'm finished my week--and the task of facing 700 plus pictures and pages and pages of journaling is a bit overwhelming at the moment!

    Hi Ali,
What great photos you got while away! We sometimes stay overnight in the hotel close to us just to get away with& without kids. They love to swim in the pool and bounce on the beds always a good time. We just got back from Archivers and I found some cool " family time" things to add to my album. I love going there. I teased my husband about how many pictures I could take in the van for that 50mt drive well 30 pictures which really look great. I'm kinda sad this week is over.
Yesterday was a bad here at our house, kids fighting, being bored your typical Saturday of us trying to fit together again. By bedtime it all works out. I can't wait to see what your album will look like. Thanks so much for sharing with us. Hope your having a good Sunday.

I'm not taking part this week - just not a good time right now, but I hope to do it in the summer when I'm not teaching. I've loved your photos and posts this week and am especially inspired to try taking a few more self-portraits. Yours rock!

Nice pic of Mary's Peak on your way home! Busy Saturday for us - driving to Charbonneau that morning, setting up an art show, meeting lots of cool people, getting a fab henna "tattoo", selling a few things (yay!) then packing it all back up, returning home, unpacking, then driving henna artist (daughter) back to Eugene, then home to Corvallis... Today is recovery day! (+ a hike up & around Bald Hill...) Love your glimpses into your life all week! Wish it'd keep going :)

I've been enjoying your Week In the Life photos.
I couldn't help looking at all the stray socks in your laundry photo and can't help myself from telling you the greatest tip I've ever received from a magazine. It is this: to put all dirty socks into a mesh laundry bag (I have the bag clipped to the side of my son's laundry basket and fill it up as we toss his dirty clothes in). Zip up the bag and toss it in with your laundry. When your laundry is done, voila! All your socks are still in the bag and there are no stray socks! I always used to find the baby socks inside the rubber front of my front-load washer, and gathering them up as you fold and sort is such a pain.
Anyway, use it or not, I just couldn't help myself from sharing!

    Ali,
As many have already said before me, thank you so much for the inspiration you bring to my life. I have been following along all week and have loved the insight into your life. As I have read along I started to wonder if enough would go on in our life to document the small things, so finally yesterday I made the decision to have a go. I figured I had nothing to lose and a lot to gain. Two days in, way behind the rest of you, and I am loving the process. I love scrapbooking but am not a confident photographer and so over the two days I have taken approximately 200 photos. Because of this project I figured out how to use the timer on the camera I have had for four years.
So I just want to thank you so much for being who you are and for chosing to share yourself with us! We are very lucky.
P.S. Not only did I take on the 'A week in the life' project but I started a blog too!! A wonderful week of new experiences!!http://emilyturkalj.blogspot.com/

At first i did not wanted to play along this year... to much on my plate already, and i must confess i haven't combined my album from last year yet (all pictures glued in place already, but it's still up to the final touches!) But then it occurred to me that - being ill and needing yucky treatment for half a year now - that my completely out of ordered life at the moment deserves to be captured! Hopefully i'll live for a long time, but if not, than i won't have missed out on such a good upportunity to leave my family this very detailed document of me! I so wish my mom had left me something like this when she went through all of this too and did not make it! So i started to work (captured even my whole chemo day! http://lifeandscrapping.typepad.com/lifeandscrapping/2010/04/week-in-the-life-wednesday-day-2.html)and i love the process! Thanks for inviting us to join you!

I had to LOL with the tennis shoes. My boys would choose their shoes on how fast they made them feel. I guess all boys are the same!!
    Enjoy!
