I Want To Remember
1 5 M O N T H S : ANOTHER FAVORITE PHOTO SPOT AT THE DINING ROOM TABLE
I want to remember how much noise you make when you're eating. It's this awesome "I love food" noise that sounds something like a motor going "mmmmmmmmmmmm." Grandma Susan says your Daddy used to do the same thing. Grandma Pati says he still makes those noises now and again.
I want to remember how very much you want to do everything your brother is doing. Wands, lightsabers, legos, books, balls and lots & lots of chase.
I want to remember how confident you are in how you hold yourself and the ways your body moves.
I want to remember this little dance you do when you are delighted, arms swinging back and forth as you walk.
I want to remember how when you are unsure of something you come zooming back over to me and snuggle up next to my legs.
I want to remember how rough and tumble you are...and how you get right back up and keep on going.
I want to remember how you dunk your head under the water at the
swimming pool and come up grinning.
I want to remember how much you like helping us let Lily (our dog) out in the morning. You get upset when you don't get to stand at the door, with the door open of course, when Lily goes outside.
I want to remember all the little moments of love I see between you and Simon. Amidst the chasing and the wrestling and the screeching there are a million little hugs and snuggles and gentle love. Tonight, after I helped you down from your chair at the table, you walked around the living room for a bit and then came back to the table and rested your head on Simon's leg. A short breather in your daily adventures; a nice pause. I notice these moments. I adore them.
wonderful. you will remember. xoxo

Oh she is so so sweet. I love all these little things you notice. I wish I knew about scrapbooking when mine were that little. It's all a little fuzzy now. I only remmeber some of Sam's little moments because he was 3 when I finally found out about scrapbooking so lot's of memories of the little guy. Anna is going to be such a mixture of sweetness and rough with having Simon as a big brother, it's a perfect combination. Thanks for sharing!!

Your little one is growing up so fast! I love the way you write down the things you notice. Wish I'd done that when mine were little.

You will remember . . . . but how I wish that I had documented even more of the days when my children were small. We have so many scrapbooks, filled with pictures and little snippets of memories written down, but you can never have TOO many memories of those years ;o)

thanks for reminding me to stop and notice some things myself today - life has a way of getting away from us sometimes....
I had to laugh at the rough and tumble part - Ellie is the same way....Graham would have been quite upset about some of the spills she's taken, but she just kind of rolls over and gets right back up and moving!

What I really love about your message to your daughter is the last sentence but one : "I notice these moments". How lovely is it to know that mummy's there, watching and enjoying the moment. Anna will fell so great when she reads this.
I love your blog, unfortunately I don't take the time to scrapbook myself, I simply keep a small diary of the kids' life.

Oh, Ali - absolutely lovely moments here, just so sweet. Thanks for helping me stop today ... in the midst of a chaotic morning and people coming and going ... STOP and think about these little things that are so very very important and are really all that matter. I love this today, Ali. Just love it! Thank you!!!!

Ali, I love this!!
Thanks for reminding me to jot down the 'little things' that happen because I'll forget about them otherwise.

Beautifully put! I am going to share this post with my daughters, both of whom have infants. They will want to remember simple little things about their babies, as well, and your post will certainly inspire them.

Love this. Thanks for reminding me of these short moments, my "baby" is now 14, and it seems like yesterday, yes I wish I had written these things down, but it does remind me that there are still plenty of opportunities now.

How very sweet...with several nieces with daughters under 3 I am now being able to document the girly aspect of scrapbooking and I'm loving it and your ideas! Thanks for the inspiration...

Oh, Ali. This is why I am fascinated with your layouts ... you really SEE things. What a treasure. If you ever need a new place to 'see', come to my house! LOL!

YOu are so good about writing things. I wish I could do this. For some reason my mind seems to just go blank or everything comes out stiff and boring. I love reading about your kids and your family. m the pictures are always great too.

Oh Ali, what wonderful journaling. I so wish I'd thought of capturing those little moments with my (now very tall 20 yr old) daughter! And that picture is precious. Thank you for sharing :)
