Yesterday I introduced you to a new minibook I had in progress. Here's a look at the finished project and a quick video tutorial on working with these mini line stack word art pieces (supplies are listed at the bottom of the post):

Inside cover :

Throughout this minibook I used some of my mini line stack products from Designer Digitals.

Here's a short video that will show you how to place a variety of .png files on one canvas for easy printing. Click through to Vimeo to view larger :

The embellishments I used next to each printed element were from a collection of miscellaneous products that had lost their original packaging. This is a great project for giving products like that a home.

For the page opposite each photo I created a series of journaling strips that talk about each person.

Here's a look at the page when it was first printed:

I completed each sentence and then used my trimmer to cut out strips.

Love any chance I can get to incorporate some of his writing. This one I
scanned in and printed on the same cream cardstock I used for the word
art.

I use a tablet but you can also handwrite on a piece of white paper, scan it into your computer and use Photoshop to extract the areas you want (with the words). I scan at 300dpi - you can do it higher if you want and then use the brightness/contrast to get the black really black and the white really white. I usually use a sharpie marker and plain computer paper.

Question: did you show us each page in the album, or is there more? I think my problem with finishing things is sometimes I try to put in too much (I have always found it hard to edit, whether it's writing or pictures or whatever, I love it all!). I need to remember it's ok for an album to only have a few, important things in it, rather than 25-50 pages ;-) I started to learn this lesson with your day in the life project last time - I was shocked that one week was all you'd put in a BIG ALBUM!

The setup of this album is so clever. I love how you used the binder for a landscape format. Thinking of a lil' album as a birthday present for my dh … thanks for the inspirtation (and free download)!

Hi - Great album. I love the pictures you take. Do you have any recommendations on online classes or books for DSLR's? I just got one and there is so much to learn, I don't know where to start! I was looking for something that is technical AND creative. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

A beautiful album! I love it! I definitely want to make my own album. I love your journaling. I love all the photos but especially the family shot. It was a great moment shot and your legs look so long (you can't beat that).
Question: When there are two photos back to back...do you adhere only the two photos or do you adhere it to cardstock first? or something firmer like chipboard?

This album includes chipboard pages so the papers and photos are adhered to the chipboard. I have done quite a few minibooks in the past where I have simply adhered photos back to back - works either way.
