Misty eyes here as I try to type this. I bet you went up to Simon and gave him a big hug, loving him for loving you. He knew that moment was something to capture for eternity.
Just a few moments ago my youngest was snuggling with my FIL and she told him, "Papa, I love you." And just snuggled with him for about 3 more minutes until she needed to get up and get the doodle boards they play on together. It's their special activity and he loves that she only does it with him.
