PEEK AT THE PROCESS
| I knew three things for sure when I started the creative process for the layout featured above:

1. I wanted to use the photo of Simon reading in the tree and I wanted it to be bigger than 4x6.
2. I wanted to use the July 2010 stamp set.
3. I wanted to use elements from the Studio Calico September 2010 kit.

I started by cutting out the strip of numbers from the Jenni Bowlin pattern paper. At this point in the process I wasn't too sure what the end layout design was going to look like but I had a general idea to use that number strip as an anchor along the bottom of the main content.

After stamping the Capture Life rectangle above on the cream cardstock I decided to repeat that basic shape using pattern papers (sometimes I just stamp and go for it). I love the technique of repetition.

To give the design a bit of variety I mixed up the height of the rectangles.

Each of the pattern paper rectangles was adhered to the cream cardstock. I added a bit of stitching around two of them. These rectangles would make great homes for additional embellishments if you were creating a page similar to this and wanted to add more.

As you might notice I ended up cutting out this whole area with the cream cardstock background and adhering it to white cardstock.

My initial plan was to have the chipboard title just along the top. I ended up adding "& Read A Book" towards the end of the process. Because that all happened at the end I trimmed some white cardstock off the top to make the margins between the edge of the chipboard letters and the cardstock even.

To complete the page I adhered it to the dark navy lined pattern paper and added zig zag stitching and a little bit of journaling.

This club looks wonderful! I would love to see "bigger" boy sets. I have 3 boys and it's always hard to find things for the tween and teen ages that's not always skulls and crossbones.

I've been wondering what "paper" you used for the banner on your website (orange and gray ovals) - it's so simple and graphic. How about a stamp set with images like that? I could see myself using them over and over!

I really love these types of stamps, that provide a home for just a bit of journaling.

I'd love to see something similar with clock/time images.

I'd also like to see you create something based on the most common "one word" choices.

Uhm. Would it be cheesy to say that anything you come up with is completely my style and therefor it goes onto my larger than life wishlist? :)

But I would really love some 4x6 sized stamps for journaling or text circles with boy related words.

I would love to see you create a date stamp set. I am always writing month, day and year on the back of my childrens artwork as it comes out of their book bag. A date stamp set would be helpful in so many ways!

Love your stamps so much! I'd like to see you continue the journaling blocks and include anything with numbers (how about different fonts on one page, interchangable with shapes like circles or squares). It's a tall order! I love seeing your handwriting in stamps. Love it!

I'd also love what many readers said before: numbers, letters, basic shapes, backgrounds... something faith related would be great, too. And anything with your handwriting! ;)

    Beautiful layout, Ali!
I have never used stamps before so for me as a beginner would be awesome date, numbers or letters stamps. Also lines for everyday journaling. Thank you for the chance.
