December Daily Q&A | Update

For some reason I'm currently unable to edit the really big December Daily Q&A post right now. I wanted to add in this image that was supposed to be in the original post which was part of an answer to this question:

Q : Have you decided what will go on the back of the daily journal pages?

AE : In the photo above you can see that I’ve decided to go with having a two-page spread with the transparent page sandwiched in the middle for each day. This gives me more room for photos, journaling or adding other stuff like pattern paper, kids artwork, receipts, etc. So the back will be the BEGINNING of the next day.

Also, here's the link to Tracy Clark's guest post about taking photos indoors.

Ali, I read through all the Q&A about making your own covers vs. buying albums -- before I start decorating my purchased album cover, I am wondering if the 2" rings will be big enough? I am documenting all 31 days (2 pages per day), with no 3D embellishments or sewing (mostly adhesived photos and journaling but will add in various receipts, tags, etc. here and there). What size rings would you recommend? Thank you!

Most likely with what you are planning they will be fine - no guarantees of course. Mine just tend to get bigger and thicker over the course of the month.

Just a quick question... When you do your December Daily do you take a break from 365 Project Life? Not sure if or how to do them both.

I think they are fine to co-exist. Do you take more than one photo a day? One will go in Project Life and the other (or more) can do in December Daily. Lots and lots of stories to be told everyday.

You could also add the same photo to both and it would be PERFECTLY fine!

i ran into that same problem last year. I used a lot of the same pictures in my P365, but some were different. I let my son be the voice of my P365 journal. He told me what we did and I wrote it for him. Looking forward to doing that again this year!

Reading your blog is helping me get pumped up about doing another December Daily this year. Not sure yet how it'll work because of my crazy schedule, but I loved it so much last year that I must give it a shot. Thanks for all of the great q&a posts; they've been really helpful!

Hi Ali. I just signed up for your stamp of the month club on Technique Tuesday. This is my 3rd year I'm doing the December Daily and still love doing it. This year we'll have a trip to Disney thrown in during December so I can't wait to use those pics as well.

I was wondering what font you used for the days of the week. I would love for my typed journaling (I will be doing both typed and hand-written) to match the one you used for the words. Thanks!

Lacey, she printed her cards this year at Persnickety Prints out of SLC Utah--http://www.persnicketyprints.com/----since I knew the answer I thought I'd help you out---and I think she printed on their metallic paper, but I might not be correct about that---I have not used them but intend to soon---Heidi Swapp and Rhonna Ferrer also swear by Persnicketly Prints and use them a lot......hope that helps, Elise in MN

    Hey Ali,
Love the December Daily idea! I am going to try mine for the first time this year. I am wondering how you keep the photos protected over the years if they are not in sheet protectors?? What keeps photos from opposite pages sticking to each other?

Hey Ali, I have been trying to recolor some of your files. It is making me crazy! Wondering if you had some tips: I am using Word 2010 for PC. I open the file, select Format Picture, then Picture Color. It only gives me a few "Preselect" colors. Every color in the rainbow except Brown! When I select Sepia it prints Black :o( I am trying to recolor 31DaysCircleNumbers, Half Circle Numbers, and AE December 25 Title. I made it work for my book (settled with red, olive green and teal). But was wondering if in the future if you do set the presets if you can make one brown? (it is my black :o) If you do not have anything to do with the presets and it is just Microsoft being well, Microsoft, I can live with that ;o) Thank you so much for your time and talent. I will photograph my base pages in tomorrow's sunlight and post to the flicker group!

    Take Care,
    Maegen

Hi Ali! I am going to attempt my first December Daily this year. I really like the transparent papers you used. I have been looking online and most papers are sold out. I was wondering if you knew if it were possible to print out my digital paper (I have a ton of digi scrapping supplies) on blank transparency paper? Have you ever tried that? Thanks in advance :) And thank you for wonderful inspiration!!
