Anna | The Pigtails & The Potty

Oh how I love those little pigtails.

And oh how I love this shot from yesterday: Anna in her jammies reading Once Upon a Potty to her baby doll while the doll sits on the potty.

This is one of the things I love about projects like December Daily or Week In The Life. I always end up with priceless photos I might not have otherwise taken. Photos that capture relationships and moments and peeks into the minutes that make up our daily lives.

The photo of her with the book and the doll and the potty is so her right now. Watching her role-play the stuff of life, the things she's experiencing, is such an awesome thing to celebrate.

Her favorite thing right this minute (and she's definitely got an opinion): anything purple.

TONIGHT : I'm hoping to try out these instructions from Autumn at Write.Click.Scrapbook. for taking a photo of the "magic lights" on our tree.

I love love these Ali, so precious she is. My oldest's first word was purple before she was one and she had to have everything purple everyday for months. Thank you for sharing. Love the pigtails especially.

    Ali,
My daughter at the same age as Anna loved purple too. She used to call it 'Jeff' (as in the Wiggles), and she loved the Wiggles too!
    Enjoy!

My daughter is 3.5 and has had a love affair with the color purple since she was about 1.5. There MUST be something on her that is purple 6 out of 7 days of the week. So fun to watch what makes our kids tick!

Lovely photos and story--lovely girl child!

This morning I checked in at the UW website and thought of you and one little word. Here is a link--I love that someone capture these thoughts from students. http://www.washington.edu/discover/holiday

She is so adorable, and I just have to comment - she looks SO much like Simon!! I am not a person who usually notices those things, but they are so similar. I also love the bond you are raising them with. My sister is my best friend, and many tears have been cried for the lost years with parents who seemed to purposely keep us "in separate corners". Of the many magical gifts you will give your kids, I imagine this will be one of the most cherished - even without them knowing! :) While I love you, and am inspired by your talent - I really think 50% of the reason I read your blog is the joyous family life! :) Thanks so much for sharing it with us! It's such a feel good place to go to! :)

Love the pigtails, love the little artist at work, love the reader. These photos bring back memories of my "little" girl, now a senior in college and home for the holidays. She too wore pigtails . . . loved art . . . loved reading. These are precious photos for sure.

So precious! Makes me so sad that my little girl is 9 already, and I missed so many of these precious moments by being too wrapped up in other "stuff". Now that I have grown and matured as a mother, I do revel in those moments she has now, and appreciate her in all of her 9 year old wonder. And I revel in the moments of my little boys who are now around Anna's age. Thank you for sharing, and reminding me of how important this is. Blessings.

Anna, so many adjectives can describe her, but adorable will cover a lot. (and it starts with an A) My children both said "pirkle" for purple. I wish digital cameras had been around 50 years ago when I had a two year old girl.
