December Daily 2010 | Day Sixteen
Tags:Welcome to Day Sixteen!
For the first time in years, I sent Christmas cards.
I designed the card (available at Designer Digitals) and had it printed at Persnickety Prints. I adhered it to pattern paper from The Girls Paperie.
In addition to the actual card and a photo of the cards, I included a couple notes that my Mom had written to the kids (if you wonder where I get this desire to write nice, positive, encouraging letters to my kids, it's all from her).
I also included the left-over part of one of the sheets of stamps.
Before sending out the cards I took a photo of them in the kitchen:
On the photo I added a Holiday Title And Journal element (a great place for hand-witing or typing your journaling) and three vintage Christmas chipboard buttons from Jenni Bowlin.
Paper along the bottom is from the Anna Griffin Georgette Holiday pack.
SUPPLIES : Ali Edwards 2010 6×8 December Daily overlays; Hambly Clearly Heavy Overlay; Tim Holtz Silver Numerals: Two Peas | Scrapbook.com; Picture It Pageframe Large 8 inch Acrylic Star; Anna Griffin Georgette Holiday pack; Ali Edwards Holiday Title And Journal; Jenni Bowlin Vintage Christmas Chipboard Buttons; Holly Berry Floral Pattern Paper from The Girls Paperie; Ali Edwards Merry Little Christmas 5x7 Card
And lastly today, a look at the book from the side (completed on the left and still to go on the right) :

Wow Ali thanks for the inspiration as always! I didn't send any cards this year and I am feeling a little bit guilty about it but next year is another chance! Your book is beautiful and you are such a wonderful role model to your kids. In today's world of sadness, disasters and war it is so nice to see the essence of your being everyday in the pages you prepare. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your life with us. Have a most joyous and safe festive season and a wonderous beginning to 2011.

I love your page today, so pretty and love those vintage buttons. That is a lot of card to mail, wish I would have thought to take a picture of mine before mailing. My page for today was going to be about my cards that I send out, so thank you for the idea of saving a stamp. So sweet of your mom to send them notes and cards, she has beautiful handwriting like you. Thank you again Ali for all you do, I'm sure you are just as busy this season too but you taking the time to share this with us means more than you could know. One more week till Christmas Eve, hooray!!

Thanks for the post Ali! I'm enjoying thinking about our holiday month more this year...although I'm stressing about only being complete up to day 5 :-) Just finished scanning the letters to Santa! Am hoping to "catch up" a little this weekend!
Oh...and have to finish up addressing my cards too!
Thanks so much for the inspiration

Great idea for today - I was going to drop my cards in the mail but I think I'll stop and take a photo of them stacked up on the table first....and saving the postage stamp stub...great idea. I would have normally just trashed it!

It always makes me happy to see you DD, but even happier when I see some of the ideas that I had show up in your book! It makes me feel like I actually know what I am doing. I have a page with my Christmas card, the leftover part of the stamps, and a picture of them all on the table for one of my spreads from last week! Thank you for all of the inspiration! Only 8 more days!

This is so lovely.
A quick question... I'm wondering what type of pen you used to write the journaling on the photo?

I used your "merry little Christmas" for the back of our photo cards this year and just love how they turned out. I will have to link up to them once I get a picture taken. AND I used the same stamps....lol.
May have to put this as my day 16 too bec. I spent last night addressing envelopes.

My day 16 was about keeping in touch too! Except I had no motivation to take any pictures. Bad Amy. I may just try snapping a photo of them today before I drop them in the mail, and use the photo as the background on my journaling page. We'll see. That's one of the things I really love about digi scrapping... so easy to change!

I love the note from your mother. I'm glad she does that. I lost my mother to cancer almost 6 years ago so my daughter will not have something like that. Thanks for sharing. I mailed out my 4 cards last week. I still have some to make this weekend for my close neighbors. I will take a picture of those. Great idea!

I also wrote our Christmas cards yesterday.
Love your card! I saw a very nice card on flickr where one of your brushes was used, and it was a great idea for Christmas cards - I'll need to remember that to next year.
