Loving | Scrapbook Layout Using Studio AE January 2011 Stamps

My Studio AE Stamps (a monthly stamp club from Technique Tuesday) for January are a great set of love circles and hearts. Here's a look at the set:

I used a few of them on this full-page photo layout of Anna.

Here's the full view:

HOW TO

1. Print 8.5x11 inch photo. Here's the before image as it came out of my camera:

In Photoshop I cropped and sized it to 8.5 x 11 inches and printed it here at home on my HP Photosmart B8550 printer.

2. Stamp love circles onto cardstock or pattern paper.

3. Punch or hand-cut circles. The main circles are 1.5 inches. The circle that was punched to go inside the metal-rimmed tag was 1 inch.

4. Layer circles and additional heart accents. I love layers like this. It's also a great way to use scraps of pattern paper.

5. Adhere the circle accents using rolling adhesive or foam dots for added dimension.

6. Print or handwrite your journaling along a strip of cardstock and adhere onto the photo. The font I used is Adler. Stitch using a sewing machine.

7. Don't forget the date. For some reason - most likely that I was just trying to be speedy - I forgot to add the date again. After scanning I stamped a date along the edge with a small date stamp that you cans see in the above image. Also, on top of this circle love stamp I added a thin layer of Glossy Accents.

This is so sweet of Anna, love the hearts/stamps you have. I asked before on a recent post as did some other commenters is there a way that we could make our own stamps in our own handwriting. Seeing yours makes me want to try it????

Thanks Ali, I'll see what I can do. Yours are so cute and creative. I meant to say earlier that's it's nice to see a layout on your post. I know you've been busy and just had your DD to do. I haven't done a layout since October and this makes me want to scrap, hoping this weekend.

You can definitely create digital stamps with your own handwriting by either using a tablet to draw/handwrite into a program like Illustrator or Photoshop. You can also write on a piece of paper, scan it in, and use that as well.

As for making stamps, you could definitely do some research online about finding a company that would create a custom stamp for you.

I also remember reading about a new product from Teresa Collins that makes stamps (I think).

Thank you so much, Ali, for taking us through the process of making layouts. It is really inspiring. Anna makes me smile - she's about 6 months younger than our grandson, Aaden, and I know what a beautiful time this is for you. When it comes to kids though, every season of life is beautiful. Enjoy them!

    Loooove.
I noticed that you did not document a lot of milestones as Anna was going through through the baby phase. I love the stories that you did tell, and always enjoy your fresh, sometimes surprising approach to things.

Ali I would LOVE to see some more of Anna's baby pages. My son is about to turn 3, and while I have done a few pages for his 1st year album, I am far from done. Mostly what I have is tons and tons of adorable photos on the computer. What I struggle with is figuring out a story, and how best to present those photos. You are my favorite inspiration! :)

I've actually got a good number of pages about Anna's first year in her album. I've got even more documented in stories here on my blog that might or might not turn into layouts.
