Around The Room | Living With Your Photos + Color Inc Giveaway

I'm a huge fan of living with your photos. Out of albums, off your computer and onto your walls.

Over the years I've amassed quite a collection of family images - many of the recent ones being mounted rather than framed as you'll see below (and above). When I first starting hanging up photos I wanted them to be all black frames with white mats. Now I'm really enjoying the variety of both the framed and simply mounted images.

Around our house I've got quite a few gatherings happening on the walls. Some are consistent collections (meaning all mounted or all framed) and others are a mixture of the two.

The first ones I want to talk about line the hall from our entry into the kitchen.

The images are 12x12 photos are "standout mounted" from Color Inc. (Color Inc is a sponsor of my blog and has been generous with samples for me in the past and as you'll see below. This set I purchased on my own. They are excellent quality and have wonderful customer service.) When we moved into this house I ordered eight or nine of these with the intent that they would be grouped together and I love them.

They are mounted onto the wall using Miller Studio Magic Mounts removable mounting tabs. I tried a couple of other brands and these have worked the best.

You might have seen this image a couple weeks ago. This is in our dining area, between the kitchen and living room. This wall has a combination of framed and mounted images. The one of Simon and Anna in the blue shirts is from Persnickety Prints.

Upstairs I've got a few other collections starting. In the room you enter before coming into my office I've got a large standout mount from Color Inc (photo taken by Tracey Clark). That one is 3o inches x 20 inches.

In my office I've included two Ikea frames with 12x12 photos of me and Chris as kids. I enlarged these 1970's photos on my scanner and they were printed at Scrapbookpictures.com. These hung in Anna's room in our last house.

A little collage in Simon's room that includes photos, Star Wars stamps, and a signed photo of Yoda from Frank Oz.

And this one was in Anna's room in our last house. I didn't recreate it here yet, but it was a favorite in the old place.

In our bedroom I'm just beginning to build a photo wall.

The newest addition is a Framed Gallery Wrap Canvas from ColorInc. As one of my sponsors they kindly sent me this new product to review and want me to give one away as well (with your own photo of course).

Here's what they have to say about this new product:

Love the sleek modern style of a Gallery Wrapped Canvas? Now you can add a frame! Our Gallery Wrapped Canvas Frames will give you that same modern and edgy look you've wanted but with a touch of traditional style to give you a unique shadow box feel to add to any home, work, or studio wall space!

These ready to hang Gallery Wrapped Canvases come with a 2 1/8'' deep smooth black laminate frame. With a 1/2'' floating space between your canvas and frame, each of our hand wrapped canvas prints will be permanently attached with the finest attention to detail. Each piece will arrive properly finished with a wire hanger, bumpers and Tyvek® backing. A true first class upgrade to your studio or home!

These Framed Gallery Wrapped Canvases are really, really nice. I didn't realize when I was ordering it that there's a space between the frame and the wrapped canvas but when I opened the package here at home I was really pleasantly surprised. I'd definitely consider ordering another one.

GIVEAWAY | One Framed Gallery Wrapped Canvas (20 x 14 or smaller) from ColorInc.

Once again, super inspirational!!! Thanks Ali! Wish I could leave work right now and go arrange some picture groups! Currently we have our photos mostly framed in black on table/desk tops...although I did just hang a few here and there over this past weekend. Our home has some huge walls that are daunting to me...I don't want a picture group to be lost. I will have to be creative though! Thanks again!

I love photo walls! We just moved, just got our wedding photos back, and have a baby on the way.. so our walls will have lots photos soon enough! I'm still in the process of finding frames & mats, but when they're done, I'll be looking at your photo walls for inspiration! What a cool sponsor, I love the gallery wrapped look!

Love your photo walls - we have one but small wall space in my house prevents having many of them! The framed gallery wrap looks fabulous - I love the space between the frame and the canvas.

I have wall groupings in most every room and also have photos on the sideboard and some tables. When I pass through a room the love of family and friends is felt as well as special memories are often remembered. This is a great giveaway--thanks for the chance to win.

I've been wanting to try a canvas but haven't taken that perfect picture yet. I do have a collage of black and whites of my kids when they were small and I love it.

I have some pictures on the wall but I need to hang more. Your post will inspire me to do that. I have used scrapbookpictures.com for my 12 X 12 photos. I will definately look at Color Inc. Your groupings look fantastic.

I have a photo wall in our guest bedroom. It is a mix of very old and new photos of our relatives and friends. They love to reminisce when they visit. I also have an oversized photo collage I do every year hanging outside my son's room. Then through out the rest of the house there is a mix of smaller and larger sized photos.

Most of mine are waiting to be scrapbooked, too. I scrapbook my calendar as I go, too, and put some in there.
We travel a lot and have started framing one picture from every place we visit, as well as some artwork we pick up by local street artists. Currently, we frame them in black with white mats. I would love to try something new.

I have several 5x7 and 4x6 photos in frames on shelves but there is next to nothing on the walls. I need to do something about that.

I have newly painted walls in our den that are begging for photos...and with a new grandson and lots of dive pictures, I'm sure I'll soon cover them with photos.
Even our motorhome bedroom has photos that have replaced the prints on the walls.

I have many photo's hanging on the wall. Some are in indicidual small picture frames sitting on tops of cabnits. I have made art books and have about 25 of them sitting in baskets in the living room for everyone to look at plus they make quite a statement with all their colors and textures. Thanks so much for the chance to win. If I win, I will use the picture I just took of my 8 grandchildren. Thank you

I haven't started my photo wall yet, so this will be great inspiration. I enjoy using my everyday photos because they include us in our daily lives, even if that means we're all in our pajamas.

Our photos are everywhere! I have my traditional scrapbooks and framed pictures on the walls and on shelves, but then I also have a basket of mini books, photo boxes that my kids are always welcome to rifle through and I'm in the process of developing a 'gallery' wall in our family room--a mixture of framed and mounted pictures like you show as well as some pieces that aren't pictures, perhaps collages and original art.

I have bulletin boards in three different places, an open frame with mesh wiring that I mount photos on, a bookcase with several photos in assorted frames, an inset bookshelf in the kitchen with assorted frames and photos and (of course) stacks of photos here and there!! LOL!! Thanks for the chance to win!

We actually live very little with our photos. Most are old shots of our grandparents or old photos of objects....an antique fire engine for example. But looking at how you incorporate your photos is inspiring...I have just the place to start...Thanks!

I didn't grow up with lots of photos around the house & as a consequence haven't got into the habit for myself. I'm single & from a non-very-close family so don't have lots of family photos & I'm not convinced that many of the photos I take are really suitable for the walls - but maybe some of my wildlife or scenery pics *could* be used ...
I have a blank wall in my dining room - maybe I need to try some photos there - any advice on getting started when you don't have family photos would be great!

Until recently I lived with the photos in scrapbook albums and in frames on all surfaces in our living room. I hadn't put photos anywhere else in our house. Then I saw, I think it is Tara Whitney's blog, where she showed the pics in other people's houses and I loved some of them. I am planning photos/canvas and framed for each room in our house! :) This giveaway prize would come in handy! :)

Color Inc. is wonderful. I have printed a few things from there and was very pleased with their pics and turn around time.

I love seeing all of the pics on your walls. I take so many pictures and have yet to hang any on my walls. You have inspired me to get it done. Thanks!
