Spring Break In Photos
On Saturday night the kids and I returned from a week of visiting my sister and her family in Charlotte, North Carolina.
We went to parks, to swimming pools, to kid's museums, and ate out at kid-friendly restaurants. We went to story time at Borders. We celebrated Gabrielle's second birthday with a really great party. The kids ate a ton of popsicles. We had lots of hugs and kisses and "I love you" with a few "my toys" thrown in for good measure. We ate popcorn and watched Sesame Street and in the evenings Jessica, Simon and I hung out on the couch watching TV and playing on our computers. My sister and I did a bunch of high-5's as we passed each other on our way to retrieve our respective kids from their car seats.
We spent a good amount of time just hanging out on my sister's couch.
It was just right.
Ali - Looks like you had an incredible trip! Life sure is good!

1. Love your hair in the pic with your sis. So cute!
2. love the girl's matching PJS...how sweet!
3. My kids reached and age where they realized I was setting the cam timer to take photos and they didn't want me to. :( Enjoy this!
4. CAPES! Who doesn't love capes! Don't you wonder how many more years your big guy will enjoy them? (My big guy stayed SO sweet, fortunately!)
Our Spring Break is next week...can't wait for my photos! Need to get camera-ready! My little Sony digi-cam is about to bite the dust!

Isnt it wonderful to be able to visit family, esp. if they live far away?! Love modern transportation. I'm glad you and the kids are back safe & sound. (PS: We LOVE Charlotte so I'm totally jealous right now!)

Looks like you had a fabulous time with your sister. You mentioned in one of the videos for your Scrapbook on the Road class that you were thinking of making a mini-book to document your trip, did you?
I taking my boys on a plane to see their Grandparents (my in-laws) Easter week and was planning to make my SOTR book for that trip. Thought it would be a nice way for their Daddy who has to stay home (new job) to see what we get up to.

Loved your photos, thanks for sharing. We used to live about 90 minutes from Charlotte, and my friend and I would load our 6 (now 7) kids up in her suburban and drive down to the museums. We had such a fun time, but were longing for the day we no longer had to wrestle with car seats! Now, the oldest of our kids is 16 and driving, and the youngest is 8. We live in separate states, but would need two cars now anyway!
Thanks for bringing back the fun memories!

Great photos and update. Would love to hear more details on travelling (especially by plane) with 2 kids. We are getting ready to fly in June to Florida with my 7 &10yo sons. WOuld love to hear what worked, what didn't and what you would do differently as far as packing for the plane ride. What snacks did you take? What activities did the kids do on the plane? I read your post on what you were preparing to take with you. How did it all work out?
Thanks! Kendra
Sure! I will do that this week.

Looks like a very nice week for all of you! I'm on spring break this week and am cleaning/reorganizing so there isn't a lot of fun but it will feel good to get things done.
