Thankful Thought | No.1

I love that when my parents come to visit my kids only want Grandma to put them to bed.

"Grandma do it." says Anna.

"Grandma!" calls Simon as he rounds the corner to go upstairs to his bedroom.

I'm so thankful for that relationship.

I'm starting a new occasional series called Thankful Thoughts and you're invited to join me.

Each time I post a Thankful Thought (a photo + a few words) I'll include a free numbered overlay download for you to add to your own photo. I'm also included a rounded-corner photo mask in this first download for those of you who'd like to have rounded-corners on your photo.

Download Thankful Thought | 001 here.

Also for this first download I put together a video tutorial on how to use the overlay and the rounded-corner photo mask.

Ali, you just rock!! Thanks for the download and this series. I can't wait to start! I have a question though, I too use my photos to upload to the web but when I change the size of the photo to 4x6 does that affect the quality of the image resize or are those two different things?

If you want to print these out and use them for something else you'll want to have two copies (that's what I do). One at 300 dpi for printing and one at 72dpi for the web.

Thank you Ali for all your efforts with videos and posts, I am new to digi and loving all your help! I am attempting to create Baby Thank You cards using a few layers, with your baby brushes and overlays at end (I might be a tad ambitious for my first go!)
I would like to eventually print them as 5 x 7 - my question is: do I create my design in this size right from the start, or do i do it in a normal page, then change to 5 x 7 at end?
At the moment I started with a 5 x 7, and have reduced paper and photo to scale, but the photo & paper quality doesn't look real crisp and lovely... (I'm using CSF4).
Grateful for any suggestions you may have...

Hi Carlie - I start with the end design size (so 5x7). Make sure that the resolution of your canvas, the photo, and the paper (the blank 5x7) is 300 dpi. Usually if your photo isn't looking crisp (and is looking pixelated) it's often because the resolution wasn't high enough.

thank you Ali, you are so generous with your freebies and tutorials!

I've been thinking about creating an album for my cat and your template will be wonderful for the photos.

    take care,

Hey there just wanted to give you a brief heads up and let you know a
few of the pictures aren't loading properly. I'm
not sure why but I think its a linking issue. I've tried it in two different browsers and both show the same
    outcome.
