Craft It Forward from Scrapbooks etc. | April

Craft It Forward is a special program designed by Scrapbooks etc. to encourage scrapbookers, cardmakers, and papercrafters to craft for a cause and make a project to give to a charity or someone in need.

To help with inspiration, each month Scrapbooks Etc. offer a special project at www.scrapbooksetc.com/craftforward and asks people to upload their creations to their web site for a chance to win $500 each for themselves and their charity of choice!

This month's free download is a template to create a cute little paper basket similar to the one I made above. It's simple and easy and a really nice way to use some of those extra supplies.

Here's the specifics:

Scrapbooks etc. is giving away $500 for you and a $500 donation to your favorite charity every month! Enter in three easy steps:
1. CREATE : Make any project you would like or download one of our free ideas (new ideas monthly)!
2. SHARE : Give it to someone (anyone) in need, then upload a photo and description of your project and who you gave it to on our website.
3. WIN : By uploading, you’re automatically entered for the chance to WIN $500 for you AND $500 to the charity of your choice!

Click on over to Scrapbooks etc. to download the template and project instructions for April.

Shimelle has a cool new class called Beyond Blogging For Scrapbookers which begins next Monday. Topics include getting to know your readers (who is reading and who do you want to be reading), simple ways to serious storytelling (how to eliminate boring blogposts forever), and the blogosphere (an exploration of community). Love this idea and so love the idea to help my favorite charity!! I will be passing this info onto everyone I know! Its all about the timing... my organization is the Maine Down Syndrome Network. I have a 4 year old beautiful daughter who has Down syndrome. We are planning our first scrapbooking crop fundraiser. I am so excited for this event. The money we raise will go towards our annual Buddy Walk. I was wondering if you had any suggestions on how to make it a great crop? In Maine they are not many scrapbooking shops left, other than the chain craft stores, so I feel a bit limited? Thanks I appreciate any ideas, we hope for this to be a big event!.

I live in Maine also! I would love to hear more about this crop and when it is. It is very sad that there arn't many scrapbooking stores left around here, my favorite one just recently closed.

Hi Amy. I'd love to know more about your scrapbooking fundraiser. I live in Maine, too, and would like to support your crop if I'm available the day of the event. Thanks!
