My favourite thing to receive on Mother's Day is some kind of special acknowledgement from my son. He has a wonderful way of making the day and not even knowing it.

Mother's Day has already been in Wales and i got the best present. All my children handmade cards for me. The boys made me cards with the characters from the Numberjacks which are purple - my favorite color. I loved the fact that they thought about me when they decided what to put on the card.

Just time spent together is a gift to me. As I get older I realize that giving or getting material things doesn't seem to matter so much anymore. Being present is the best present.

Actually my most favourite thing to do on Mothers Day is to spend it with my mother. Although myself, I am a mother nothing gives me more joy than seeing my Mum, giving her a big hug and seeing her enjoy time with her Grandkids. Thanks Mum for being such a rock in my life.

My totally favourite thing would be for my son & DiL to visit but since they are 12000 miles away it's unlikely. However I do get spoiled because we have had Mother's Day here in the UK when I got two phone calls and I will get another Mother's Day in May when Australia (where he lives) and the U.S. (where his wife is from) celebrate.

We have a tradition of choosing and planting flowers (annuals) for Mother's Day. It's a fun way to spend part of the day and I get to enjoy my gift all summer long!

Flowers are my favorite thing to give and receive. So far, only my mother has given me flowers for Mothers day! I love that no matter what our budget, we can always afford a cheap flat of something pretty. Like pansies, which were her Nanna's favorite, and mine.
