GIVEAWAY | Two people will each receive a spot in the Up & Running Summer 5K Beginners Course, which starts on 13 June.

Up & Running provides unique online running classes for women. If you've always thought running was reserved for sporty types with bouncing ponytails, we're here to help you discover that running is for everyone. Our 5K Beginners Course is not the usual boring "walk 5 mins, run 5 minutes" program. We offer expert coaching from renowned coach Julia Jones, unlimited support from our community forums, and a mind and body approach that has been tried and tested with thousands of women around the world. Whether you've dabbled in running before or completely new to exercise, we'll not only help you start running safely, we'll get your mind in the right place too.

"Up & Running really has been the best thing I have done for myself in years, and not just for the running. My confidence and happiness in my own skin has increased so much and I love what my body can DO, rather than obsessing about what it looks like."
- Philippa, UK, Spring 5K course

My mom told me never let someone get between you and the door, and never take an already open drink from someone when I went to college. Let's just say that piece of "street-wise" advise discouraged what I found out later to be a bad man. He later told someone else not to waste his time, you can't get one over on her.

My mother always told me to treat others as you would like to be treated. It works! She also has a saying, "Take the high road." When a difficult situation arises, I take the high road!

My mom has always said "if it isn't important 100 years from now, it's not worth getting upset over" and she was right! Happy Mothers Day Ali.

My mom taught me so many life lessons they are too innumerable to list here. But the best lesson was to love the Lord with all my heart and to trust Him to deliver what I need not necessarily what I want...

My mom taught me that when it comes to emotions and relationships that people can only give what they are capable of giving and this has helped me immensely in dealing with certain relationships in my life.

What I learned from my Mother is to laugh...laugh at the ridiculous and laugh at yourself and then laugh some more! A good sense of humor will get you through so much in this life!

Unfortunately, the one thing I have learned from my mother is how not to treat my children. That is something I am grateful for.

The online running class looks interesting!!! My Mum - a very quiet , unasuming but very funny lady was not one to get angry easily - something I am now trying to copy ( after years of letting anger rule my life) - so I am doing more of what my Mum did rather than said...

My mom didn't say this too much, but she taught me by putting these true and wonderful words on my bathroom wall. "Contentment is not the fulfillment of what you want, but the realization of what you already have." Definitely words to live by! (It's now in my kids bathroom!)

My beloved mother is no longer on earth but she was my greatest teacher and soul mate. She would say many lovely, wise things to me but here's the best one I can think of: "You never know what might be going on behind the scenes. Maybe all you know isn't all there is to know."

She was positive and self-contained and wonderfully nurturing. My sweet mother.

My mom taught me all the usual stuff: respect, love ... but the one thing I really appreciated that she taught me was the love of reading and history. It seems like she was always reading. She also shared her love of history to me and my siblings by tell us about historical events, and going to historical places. I think my love for scrapbooking and documenting my family's life is from the lessons mom taught me.

The life lesson I learned from my mother was never to look outside myself for validation. It is very freeing not to need approval all the time!

To hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. Sounds a little grim, but totally positive and empowering.
