Project Life | Week Thirty-Eight
Welcome to Project Life | Week Thirty-Eight.
There's something really kind of wonderful about a very simple week. No inserts. Not a lot of extras. Just words and photos.
And it really was all about pirates last week. Simon's Jack Sparrow (from Pirates of the Caribbean) costume arrived and I'm pretty sure he wore it every single day. In addition he watched all the movies and played with his pirate legos. We also picked up a Pirates of the Caribbean book for him but he chose to keep reading Diary Of A Wimpy Kid Rodrick Rules.
Anna's going to be Tiana from The Princess and The Frog. She also found a Dorothy costume at Target last week so she might change her mind. I'm cool either way - costumes have always been a fun thing to have around here.
And tis the season for soup. I made split pea on Sunday and am still planning to try this lasagna soup I saw on Pinterest (thought I was going to do it last week but ended up doing chicken noodle because I had some chicken in the fridge I needed to use first).
I'm heading out of the country for the Scrapmap Italy event this weekend so it will be a couple weeks before I post another Project Life update. I'm planning to encourage my parents to do some writing on the journal cards while I'm gone - I know they'll be taking photos. Most likely I won't add a bunch of my travel photos to this album - I might add a few just for context but I'll make those decisions when I get back home.
Project Life is a product created by Becky Higgins. It can be anything you want it to be. The pieces of the album kit (similar to the one I’m using) are available here. If you live outside the US check Becky’s site for more information on sources. View all my posts about Project Life here.
Looks great! Thanks for the continuing inspiration. One question: what is the red pen you are using? It matches this version of Project Life really well!

Loved this post and your continued energy with this project. My 3-year-old daughter is COMPLETELY obsessed with Jake and the Neverland Pirates so there has been a lot of pirate here too. Fun to see the love and children and all things make believe.

I made the Lasagna Soup on Sunday and it's delicious! The dollop of the ricotta cheese in the bowl is delicious! Safe travels to you.
oops...meant to use a different adjective than delicious again for describing the cheese. brain not fully functioning this morning..

Ohhhh, just reading the trip itinerary floods me with memories of taking our 13 year old to almost all the places you are going. She was "spooked" by Lucca, but we fell in love with San Gimiano. We found a local alabaster artist we got to know personally. Ohhhh the memories! Have a great time. It was life changing for the three of us.

I always love seeing your Project Life updates! I am wondering what pen do you use to write on the actual photo? I love the idea of adding a little more journaling by adding a tag or writing right on the photos!
Hope you have a safe trip!
This time I used a Copic pen - they work great. http://bit.ly/mXq5FH

I wish I had your energy to complete a Project Life. Maybe next year. The Lasagna Soup is a-mazing. I made it for my family once and they are still reminiscing about it. Yum!

Just wondering when you will start your planning posts for December Daily this year? I've been pinning some ideas on Pinterest, but I wanted to consider using some of your digital templates this year and wondered which direction you might be going?
Hi Erin - I've got a quick sneak peek coming soon. Other posts will start showing up when I return from Italy in mid-October. There will be a kit available that includes an album via Studio Calico. I will also be updating the templates I used last year - really liked the design of those so they will be similar but with updated sizing for this album (and updates to the dates). I'm getting excited too!

Hi, I love your work. where do you have your pics printed for Project Life?
Hi - I print them here at home. Right now I'm using an Epson Stylus Photo R2000.
