Project Life | Weeks Thirty-Nine, Forty and Forty-One
Tags:Welcome to Project Life | Weeks Thirty-Nine, Forty, and Forty-One
NOTE: Both the Turquoise and the Amber editions of Project Life are back in stock at Amazon. These were the new designs that debuted late last year - there are new designs coming out next month as well. You can see all the options on Becky's site.
Today's post includes three weeks of Project Life, including two weeks put together by my Mom and Katie while I was traveling in Italy.
It's likely that I'll include a couple things about my trip into Project Life but I wanted to show you what it looks like without it first (see what my Mom did, etc). I imagine that I'll just add in a note and a couple photos - maybe a half-page insert with some of my favorite photos and maybe some information about the logistics and experience. I've got a separate project going for the rest of my trip documentation.
Let's start with Week Thirty-Nine (this was the week right before I left):
Week Forty:
First off, I love this. I love that my Mom and Katie collaborated to make sure these pockets were filled with photos and bits of life while I was away.
My parents took the kids down to the beach the first weekend I was away so my Mom included a full second page protector to accommodate the photos and stories.
I love, love, love having her handwriting in here.
What I really love though is that they took the time to do this while they were here. I came home to photos printed and all the content stuffed into the pockets. I know my Mom tried working my printer here at home but ended up with a couple trips to Costco for the 4x6 prints. Love you for doing that Mom. She even rounded all the corners.
Week Forty-One:
You'll notice as you look at this week that there's a few blank spots.
I'm thinking I'll use those spaces to include some Italy photos or words about where I was during this time.
This list cracks me up. It's a great idea to include something so simple, so everyday.
A little bit of the schedule.
My Dad did some awesome pruning around the yard. Super thankful for that too.
I also love that my Mom got on the internet and downloaded some of the information for the local corn maze - they visited a couple times.
These couple weeks put together while I was away could end up being some of my favorites of the entire year down the road. It's a special addition - so cool to have a bit of their perspective and memories included.
Project Life is a product created by Becky Higgins. It can be anything you want it to be. The pieces of the album kit (similar to the one I’m using) are available here. How wonderful to know YOU don't have to catch up on things that you weren't even there to participate in. The "participants" did it FOR you. Awesome.

Ali- this speaks volumes of their love for you. And that they really truly "get" you. I know for a fact that this wouldn't happen in my family. It makes my heart happy for you.

How wonderful for Simon and Anna to have such a special and wonderful relationship with your parents! Your mom did an amazing job getting the memories they made into the PL album. I can SO feel the love and support that your parents give you and the children. What a blessing!

I am about to start a Project Life album. How can I incorporate some of the scrapbooking "stash" I accumulated for traditional scrapbooking into the PL, so it doesn't go to waste? (I' very new to this) Thanks!

I can't let go of traditional scrapbooking entirely (I love it too much) so my book is a combination of traditional pages and pocket pages. Works great!
you can put anything into the pockets! and also make traditional pages to put in your album don't make it hard...enjoy the process..once you get going you'll do great!
Hi Alex - I don't use a lot of extra products in mine (mainly more focused on the words, photos and adding in stuff from life - receipts, tags, notes, etc). There are definitely people out there who are incorporating more artsy elements from their stash and it looks awesome. Check out Lisa: http://gluestickgirl.typepad.com/

Ali - you have the best Mom :) Mom's are good - and I think that it took me growing up to realize how much I need my mom. How much she does for me and my kids. Yup, Mom's are good! And you have a very good one!!

This is incredible! I spent a week in the hospital right when we moved to a new house in a new state. My mom was so amazing during this week, watching our 5 children and unpacking our house while I was ill and hubby was working. But, now after seeing this post I wish she could have just hung with the kids and documented it all! I would love to have another perspective in my PL album and especially her thoughts and handwriting!
Thank you for sharing this!! I will admit to missing your posts while you were gone :)
