December Daily™ 2011 | Day Nine

Welcome to December Daily™ 2011 | Day Nine.

JUST A NOTE | I've got a second post going here on my Projects Blog today - December's Technique Tuesday/Studio AE Blog Hop. Check it out here.

Have you guys heard of Portable North Pole? My friend Stacey introduced it to me last year - it's a way for your kids, grandkids, neighbor kids, etc to receive an email and a video message Santa. The best part is that it's personalized.

It was pretty much magic watching Simon and then Anna view their videos.

The best part was Simon saying to Anna, "Anna, I'm so glad you're on the nice list." He was so excited for her. He's a really good brother.

Here's a look at my pages and my process:

For the first page I used one of my December Daily™ Layered Templates (includes the favorite tradition overlay).

I printed that on 8.5 x 11 and cut.

On top of the photo I added a "he" and "she" buttons from Ormolu. The "&" was cut with the Silhouette.

For the second page I printed out the email and did some cutting and pasting. I printed it directly from my email program.

I printed and cut up both emails so I could include their names together on this one page.

It's hard to do justice and capture just how excited they both were.

HO HO HO - I LOVE this entry in your DD!! WOW!!! I have a 14 year old and this is her 1st year to say she's too old for alot of the Santa stuff - but guess what - I am going to do this anyway!!!

One of our traditions is also to use the NORAD Santa tracker - it has a kids countdown village with some games and is especially cool on Christmas Eve - your kids can see what country Santa is in. I believe NASA started this site for kids...here is the link...enjoy!

I did the Santa Videos with my kids and my 9 year old boy said "Is this a VIDEO CHAT?!? Can HE SEE ME?" He was very relieved that Santa couldn't actually see him through the computer. My 8 year old daughter is feeling pretty confident about the new Barbie Dreamhouse with the knowledge that she is on the nice list - I told her better keep up the good behavior because I'm pretty sure Santa checks his lists one more time Christmas Eve.

Thanks for letting us know about the Santa video thing. So Awesome.

I understand that you print your photos at home. In the spring we're hoping to get a new computer and printer. I would LOVE to be able to print photos at home. What printer do you recommend? Do you think we should have a separate one for regular printing, and one for photo printing?

    Hi Ali,
Love this page!!!!! This was the year that my ASD 11 year old found out about good old Saint Nick. I had already ordered the video and wanted to do a page in my Dec. Daily and tell the story of how he handled it . Anyway he loved the video. Thanks to your post I now have an inspiration for the page "YES, Nick there is a Santa." Thanks for the GREAT inspiration and although I am behind a few days I will keep plugging along...

Love seeing your pages each day, it is very inspiring and motivating. On a different note, was there a deadline for the santa email? The link and a google search brings up an empty screen :(

Ali, can I ask what paper trimmer you are using in the photo in this post. Mine is needing replacing. I really want one that cuts straight too :) Merry Christmas to you and your family.
