December Daily™ 2011 | Day Six
Tags:Welcome to December Daily™ 2011 | Day Six.
Each year when I put this album together I always know there will be a day or two (or more) where I'd love to just be super quick with the process. Not every page has to be crafty, extensive, well thought-out, have photos, or even have words.
Today was that day for me.
Knowing that, I usually stash a few things in my December Daily™ pile that I can put into my album that tell simple, quick stories (that are still meaningful when viewed in the context of the whole album). They often involve things cut from packaging, magazines, etc.
Here's a look at each page for today:
Packaging cut from Anna's Advent calendar (Playmobil Christmas Post Office). I'll add something from Simon's (Lego Star Wars) when December is over (his didn't have any extra packaging). Actually I might just print out an image from online to add to the pocket. Brown paper bag tag was cut from a Trader Joes shopping bag. Cut little red and white paper clip is from Smash.
The second page image was cut from the DVD packaging. Underneath I wrote a few details about what kind of Advent Calendar each kid received and how they've been watching these movies (and Home Alone).
Quick and easy. Especially great for those days when everything else feels anything but quick and easy (also great for days when you might be playing catch-up and find yourself working on more than one day at a time).

So great Ali! Sunday I took a quick picture of "The Muppet Christmas Carol" DVD case and that took centre stage for the day (on paper and on the screen). We are loving this. Thanks for it all.

Love how packaging is fun too. My yoghurt company puts a Christmas thank you sticker on their packaging at Christmastime, it's something that will be going in my album.
The last 2 days have been days like this for me too. Yesterday I didn't take any photos and today I only took 2 - 2 shots of my much needed chocolate cake - a tough Mummy day! Also, thanks for the Lisa Leonard code - I have a necklace on my Christmas wishlist!

Thank you for all the inspiration - your stories and pages are great! Thanks also for the reminder that certain days are just like that. I've had a lot of those days, and getting inspiration from you and others just help me with tips and ideas that I can use for my own stories and by that I also may get past certain point where I feel stuck in the process.

I don't have a blog, so I'll just share what I have done for my easy days:
1. Downloaded a Christmas Coloring Sheet and had my daughter color it.
2. Gave my daughter a pile of Christmas stickers and a 5.5x6.75 piece of cardstock to adhere to my foundation page.

Love your pages today & the way that they are so quick and that they give a break from photos. Awesome :)

I find myself doing the same thing....through out the month things or events that would fit in the theme if note or make a mental note like this weekend is Poinsetta festival 10 to 6 at Baseline and than on Saturday a cafe event and so on....this way it stays front and center on my mind.....
hugs and blessings

Great suggestion! My son is a December baby so I feel like I am doing double duty in one month! Seeing your images of the kit make me sooooo jealous! I found you too late to order but I am using your digital templates. Thank you for helping me understand how to document special moments simply.

looks great. ali, my son has the star wars lego calendar too, on the first day of ours there was a mini sized fold-out that was of exactly what the picture of the box looks like - i used it here:

maybe you could scan it in case simon wanted to keep it with his instructions and such. enjoying december daily - thank you.

great idea. my twins and hubby are participating in my church's christmas production (www.sccjourney.com) and including a brochure into my album will be fantastic and similiar to your inspsiration. Thanks Ali. The day we watch Christmas movies (planning to do that when my grandkids come home) I'll need to match your idea. Thanks so much for all you do. P.S. Each day I attempt to link in with everyone else's december dailys and i always get an error. oh, well.

Ha! I bought the same DVD set for Alyssa this year and I planned on using the packaging in my album too! Christmas movies are such a part of the holiday season and the movies in this set were ones I looked forward to watching on TV when I was a kid.

The image of the Christmas Classics takes me right back to my childhood! Is Lisa Leonard the same artist that makes the OLW items? I'll have to check her site but just wondering - my word last year was to long to have on a necklace but this year's word is only 3 letters so I'd like to get a necklace this year.
