IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST TIME HERE, WELCOME! Normally a process post like this would happen over on my Projects blog but since this one includes a giveaway it's happening here (and there's lots of December Daily goodness happening over there). If you'd like to learn more about my site check out my Welcome or About Ali pages.

Here's a look at a stamp I love from the new catalog and the one I'm using in my layout today:

Hello zig zag!

I decided to do a page that highlights some of the things I love about Anna right now.

Here's a look at my process:

I used the new Hero Arts Zig Zag stamp to create a pattern on my white cardstock with Jenni Bowlin Chewing Gum and Malted Milk inks. I didn't stress about making it perfect because I knew I would be adding content on top.

I started by adding a sticker border (Sassafras for Studio Calico) along the bottom - popping it up with foam dots.

I knew I wanted the title to read "Things I love" and I hoped it would fit in that space. Chipboard letters are American Crafts Goodness by Amy Tangerine.

Photo is 4x6 and was printed with a white border.

And yes, another one of those wood flags is popping up here. I love those things.

"Beautiful" is from a set of GCD Studios Melody Ross Soul Food Collection Chipboard Stickers.

For the journaling I used one of my Awakening 4x6 overlays. I opened it in Photoshop, added my text and printed on cardstock.

Along the bottom of the overlay I added a bit of washi tape (I think that came in a Studio Calico kit), her initials in those great little Lily Bee alphabet letter stickers, and an old metal arrow (I think from 7gypsies). Love those arrows. Someone should make those again.

My favorite holiday tradition is that none of the children in our family can go to see the tree until my Dad (Grandpa) has gone in to make sure that Santa has ben here. The kids sit at the top of the stairs and wait with eager anticipation. It lets the adults get downstairs and all set up to see the looks of excitement as the kids come in.
Thanks for the chance at great prizes, I adore Hero Arts stamps!

My favorite holiday tradition is how my whole family makes a point of being together for at least a few hours on Christmas Day. Our daughters are all grown up, each with their own SO, but they always show up on Christmas!

What a gorgeous page! Love the journaling and the stamping! There are so many traditions during the holiday that I look forward to. One of them however is the annual Christmas cookie baking marathon I do with my best friend. We bake tons of cookies and package them ready for gift giving. Of course we sample them too along the way :)

Love the zig zags - Anna's photo really pops on such a subtle yet graphic background. Fun! I'm a newlywed so still developing favorite traditions in my new family of 2. Decorating the Christmas tree as a family was always one of my favorites growing up - my Mom always did all the prep with getting out lights & ornaments, putting together a big plate of cookies and snacks, and then we'd all have at it. Definitely a tradition my husband and I are continuing! I love how sweet and simple it is, and our mish mash collections of 30+ years of ornaments. :)

Favorite tradition? Soups on Christmas Eve followed by opening one present! When the kids were small, it wore them out! Now the kids are making the soups for my mom! The boy kids at that!

Every night my 3 year old daughter and I talk to Santa: she whispers every night the same thing - "I want PAINTS and a balloon, Santa". Let us all be humble in what we wish - and then we get something much, much better (at least, this is how it will work for Lisa).

I LOVE Hero Arts, Ali, and your project is lovely! My favorite holiday tradition is being reinstated this year since my Mom came to live with me and my husband last March. We used to drive around on Christmas Eve and look at all the holiday lights on homes in our area. Then, we came home and had hot chocolate. I love that I'm going to get to share that with my Mom again this year. I've missed it.

These days my favorite tradition is my Sour Cream Coffee Cake as part of our Christmas morning breakfast. Brings back memories of all the people who used to be with us that are no longer here.

Caroling at the retirement homes in town with a group from church is one of my first annual traditions of Christmas. It puts me in the right frame of mind for the season and makes me happy to see all the shining faces in the audience.

Our favorite Christmas tradition would have to be singing Christmas songs together accompanied by guitar. I *love* those evening times together. Thanks for another great giveaway here!
