Normally a process post like this would happen over on my Projects blog but since this one includes a giveaway it's happening here (and there's lots of December Daily goodness happening over there). If you'd like to learn more about my site check out my Welcome or About Ali pages.

Here's a look at a stamp I love from the new catalog and the one I'm using in my layout today:

Hello zig zag!

I decided to do a page that highlights some of the things I love about Anna right now.

Here's a look at my process:

I used the new Hero Arts Zig Zag stamp to create a pattern on my white cardstock with Jenni Bowlin Chewing Gum and Malted Milk inks. I didn't stress about making it perfect because I knew I would be adding content on top.

I started by adding a sticker border (Sassafras for Studio Calico) along the bottom - popping it up with foam dots.

I knew I wanted the title to read "Things I love" and I hoped it would fit in that space. Chipboard letters are American Crafts Goodness by Amy Tangerine.

Photo is 4x6 and was printed with a white border.

And yes, another one of those wood flags is popping up here. I love those things.

"Beautiful" is from a set of GCD Studios Melody Ross Soul Food Collection Chipboard Stickers.

For the journaling I used one of my Awakening 4x6 overlays. I opened it in Photoshop, added my text and printed on cardstock.

Along the bottom of the overlay I added a bit of washi tape (I think that came in a Studio Calico kit), her initials in those great little Lily Bee alphabet letter stickers, and an old metal arrow (I think from 7gypsies). Love those arrows. Someone should make those again.

    Beautiful layout!

My favorite holiday tradition is getting some holiday music, bundling up, grabbing our favorite coffee drinks from the local coffee stand, and driving around our town and countryside looking @ the beautiful lights everywhere. So much fun and somewhat magical at times.

I love putting the tree up Thanksgiving weekend and being with family and friends during the holiday. Christmas musical presentations at church are thrilling too.

We get a new ornament every year for our family, and my favorite tradition is putting them on the tree, and reminiscing about what life was like when we got each one. My husband thought this was a silly tradition when we first started it, but now he enjoys it just as much as I do. I'm sure my boys will love their ornaments when we pass them down one day, although they might have to pry them out of my hands. :)

My favorite holiday tradition is one we just started..we take a Christmas train out to a Christmas tree farm and cut down our own tree. The train ride is sorta Polar Express like with hot cocoa, Santa, etc..they put the tree on a flatbed truck and drive it back to the train station and put it on your car...the kids LOVE it and it's a super fun experience for the whole family. Thanks for the great giveaway Ali! xo

My favorite tradition is putting up the tree. There are so many memories associated with the ornaments that putting up the tree becomes a scrapbook of sorts! And thanks for yet another wonderful giveaway!

I really love this layout about Anna. I like the way you varied the weight of the stamping so that it wasn't all the same. And I am with you on those arrows. I wish someone would make them again, like Tim Holtz.

My favorite tradition is going to the Christmas Eve service at church.

Great stamps! Thanks for the chance to win. My favorite tradition is baking snowman cookies from a recipe I found in Better Homes and Gardens 25 years ago when I first got married. My grown nieces recently told me how much they loved them as kids. I've made them with all the kids who have come through my life, big and small! ;)

For as long as I can remember, the highlight of our Christmas was getting together with family. It used to be that we spent Christmas Eve with my dad's side and Christmas Day with my mom's side. Now that the kids are grown and having kids of their own, we've made a few adjustments. The Christmas Eve celebration has moved to the weekend before Christmas, however we still make family the focus of the season and we still enjoy getting together. Even those who have to travel long distances make it a priority to attend. It is a tridition I hope to continue long into the future!

My favorite tradition is new last year. My kids were getting old enough to help decorate the tree. Only one broken ornament, but they had so much fun. The tree totally looks like kids did it (decorations crowding the front, their favorite home made ones front and center, messy, chaotic, crowded) and I love it! I love that they feel so much a part of it and are so proud of their tree. We did it last night and again, it put us all in the Christmas spirit. It's not about perfection...always good to remember this time of year:)

What a great stamp. There are so many things you could use it for.

My favorite holiday tradition is making Chile con Carne with fresh tortillas and tamales on Christmas Eve. We live close to Mexico and it's a more traditional Mexican holiday meal. Love it.

My favorite holiday tradition is putting a sweet potato on our tree in remembrance of the first of my DH's family to leave Germany & come to Texas. They had no money for ornaments, so "decorated" their Christmas tree w/apples & sweet potatoes.
