Join In | A Day In The Life + Dates For 2012 Week In The Life

week in the life | bringing it together : the photos

Anyone want to join me in documenting a day in your life this week?

As I was sitting with Simon at breakfast this morning I was thinking that it’s been awhile since I did a full day of documentation. I’m planning to do it this Wednesday, February 8th.

If you’d like to join in all you need to do is wake up on Wednesday (or any day this week) with a commitment to writing down and photographing the course of your day.

To simplify the process you can download my set of my printable Daily Sheets and use whichever day you plan to document.

You can blog about your day, create a layout, add it to your Project Life, etc. I’m thinking I might just include an extra page or two in Project Life.

I’ll share my experience, and include a place for you to link to yours, later this week.

WEEK IN THE LIFE 2012

I also wanted to announce that I’ll be doing the Week In The Life project again this year from April 23rd through April 29th.

You can take a look at past Week In The Life projects here. More details to come.

Week In the Life added to April calendar – but I’ll be starting the 22nd – Sunday-Saturday fits my brain better :) . Also will do the Day in the Life this week – should be fun to play during an OSU-work-day! Have my Wed. sheet already printed & ready to go! Fun stuff Ali – thanks.

I’d love to join you but we’ve just had a “major” blow to our usual schedule- not sure what I’d capture for sure. Until today we’ve worked 7-4 since probably 2003 or so- before that it was 4-10′s at 7-6. We’re now working 8-5 and it feels like total craziness to me- probably because I’m very much a morning and early to bed person and am now having to shift my entire day around so that I don’t lose the hour. So, Wednesday won’t be ordinary in that sense. But, the change in schedule will make A Week in the Life very different from the past years.

I’m going to be trying WITL for the first time this year! I’ve been doing December Daily for 3 years and started Project Life this year; this is the first time that WITL seems doable.

I can’t wait to see what you and everyone else comes up with!

Hi Ali, my 11 year daughter did WITL last December. It was a school project completely of their choice. It was a week of her last year of primary school (we are in Australia, so different to U.S. I think) She got permission and walked around the school with a camera around her neck. She used your templates each night. Neither of us had used PSE before. It was successful and she got the knack of it very quickly. Just thought I’d encourage people that using the templates made it easy for her and working with photoshop is not too difficult. :)

That’s a great week to do week in the life as that’s my birthday week!! I love the idea of documenting a day and adding it to PL. I need more daily routine photos. I think I just forget since it is things we do everyday!

I was just thinking the other day that with doing Project Life this year, I might not want to do A Week in The Life again, but instead just do a detailed Day in the Life spread. And, here you are! :) Thank you!

Oh what fun! I really enjoyed this project last July. I also really enjoyed this project during the Summer. Lots going on. The week you selected is a very ordinary week for my family. Should be quite a contrast with the Summer.

    Ha, that’s funny!
I’m currently in the process of scrapping a whole day of pictures I took in 2006 and was thinking of doing the same again soon.
So, I’m in, A Day In The Life 2012 it is!! And somehow this is exactly how I called my album, haha!
Here’s a link to the layouts, the papers and inspiration are from Paislee Press:http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.379965365350913.110617.100000123597295&type=1
I made templates for fast scrapping. :)

Count me in…I’m ready! I think I’ll pick…hmmm…Friday! Thanks for this mid-February kick in the pants…lol. Doing WITL or even just for a day like your doing this week, always helps me “re-focus” on what’s really important in my life. It’s been a tough week already and it’s only Tuesday, this is definately a much appreciated distraction.

I’ve been thinking about this all day and I’ve decided to go for it, so count me in too! I think instead of photos, I’ll use ephemera from the day–receipts, newspaper headlines, junk mail bits, the finished crossword puzzle, bird feathers, leaves…whatever my day entails. I think it will stretch my creativity to find ways to document ordinary events throughout the day. Thanks, Ali!
