Project Life 2012 | Week Six

Welcome to Project Life 2012 | Week Six.

When I uploaded photos of my project this week this first thing that came to mind was "hello words."

My second thought was man, I don't feel well. Seems I've come down with something and ended up spending most of yesterday in bed. Hoping it will pass soon.

Big thanks to Elle and Jenni for inviting me to be a Project Life guest poster over on Elle's Studio Blog today. They've got a giveaway of five of my favorite Elle's Studio products and an interview happening too.

I really liked adding in A Day In The Life. It's a nice supplement to the stories I'm including here already.

The "A Day In The Life" word art (I cut it with the Silhouette) is a freebie you can download here. Behind it is just the back of an Instax photo from last week.

I added a card from Elle's Studio Collected Notes Tag set on top of my Daily Sheet to give it a small introduction.

Here's what my collage of photos from my A Day In The Life Layered Template looks like printed out in my album. I printed it here at home on my Epson R2000 printer on 8.5x11 photo paper.

On the back of the second Daily Page I added something that Simon brought home from school last week. It's from earlier in the school year (before he turned 10) but it's exactly the kind of school stuff I like to include in this album.

Lots of birthday stuff related to Anna turning three on this last page.

The heart journal spot is from Elle's Studio One And Only Note Tags.

I hope you are feeling better today. Love the worksheet that Simon filled out - I'm trying to find something similar to use with the personal yearbook project I'm doing with the kids this year.

I hope that you are feeling better as well.

It was fun to see your week come together. I also used the DITL template on 8.5x11, but the labels got cut off on the side of mine. I am not sure what I did wrong, but I can only see about the bottom half of the two labels that are on the side tabs. I noticed that yours not only shows them all but also has some white space around the whole thing. If you get a chance, can you let me know what print setting you selected to make sure it did not get cut off.

      Iris,

Thanks for the reply to Mrs. V's question. I have been having this same issue when I print 4x6. I will try printing without the "borderless" option checked and see what happens.

Check to make sure you don't have the "borderless" option checked on your printer. I print my photos @ home and when I just change the size of my page, even if going from 4x6 to 8.5x11, sometimes that "borderless" is still checked. That means it resizes your image slightly larger to have it bleed off the edge.

    Ali,

For my PL, I have bought various journal cards that I am incorporating into my album. I was wondering if you could give me some pointers on how I can recolor sections of these cards (i.e. wording, graphic, etc.) without completing recoloring or filling in the entire card.

I think Cathy Zielske has a video on how to do with with one of her card sets on her blog. I've been meaning to look at it.

This is my first year for PL, it's pretty cool since I seem to be a collector of receipts, etc. I love how it can be anything you want it to be. The only thing I'm not liking is Amazon being out of everything I want for this (page protectors, etc). I saw on ebay a turquoise kit for sale for $200.00. Seriously? I guess I didn't realize how popular this was, so next year I'll know to plan ahead. :)

I've made tons of Project Life journaling tag printables. They are free until I open my Etsy shop again in the near future. Here's a link in case you'd like to use any of them:

Ali, I want to say how much I have enjoyed your newsletter. It is terrific and I know it takes a lot of time to get it together. To think this is free is off the charts. I like that it thinks beyond the normal into ideas that are important. I am doing Project Life for the first time and am enjoying it, but if I do not get the A sheets with only 8 slot, I may have to go to one sheet a week. Blessings to you.
